  1. Sorry, I look at how guns work mechanically and Glock doesn't really do much different than every other modern auto aside from the way it strikes the primer (which I think is more complicated that it needs to be - see XD, nice and simple and adjustable to well under 2 lbs with full striking power.) It must be the magic juju that makes them infalible "Glock Perrrrfection" Blind brand loyalty razzing aside, I like the G17 a lot, but it just doesn't work as well for someone who tends to shoot SV and 1911 triggers and switches guns often. The grips that fit me better are Tangfolio, Sig and XD, because I don't have big hands. The grip angle is not really a big deeal because when you shoot it often you just adjust and every other gun points low With the quality of manufacturing these days you can make GM with just about any bone stock gun. Dave S is a perfect example. His guns have new sights, but that's about it. The trigger sucks an no cool factor gadgets needed to be one best shooters in the world. Just shoot as many gun as you can before buying and know the gun won't be what holds you back. ps. I've shot 100% classifier scores with a bone stock Glock, XD, Sig 226, and SVI. Shooting isn't as much about the gear as some vendors would like to make you believe.
  2. As much as I like the Caspian, until we get some real mags I'd have to say, go with the Briley.
  3. The Kobra sight rocks!!! How about the trigger, tell me you got a decent trigger Still got to love the AK, I need to start saving my $ to replace the tricked out one I sold when someone offered my way to much $.
  4. Where is the Kobra sight? A must have for the commie gun. I miss mine
  5. Glocks aren't as reliable as some people claim. Not an opinion, just a fact. Ask anyone who's been to Glock matches and isn't a "true believer." If you haven't seen one malfunction you haven't seen enough of them. I've seen as many Glocks jam, mags break, and several Kabooms. That is just the nature of machines. They work good enough, as do most guns generally. Saying one type of gun is inherantly better than another is just a matter of taste and ergonomic IMO. Go with what fits you best and don't worry about a better mousetrap.
  6. #1 - The gear matters little, the $15 Uncle Mikes is a fast as an expensive "race" holster. Most modern plastic holsters are as fast as you make them. #2 - You can't effectively "push to go fast." Speed is a by product of doing things efficiently.
  7. Nice I was thinking a good caption for that would be, "Dang that Mexican food, you don't want to go over there."
  8. You're not the only addict (snort) I'm watching 3 seasons at a time now that I have a dvr.
  9. +1 just black out the FO and you are ready to rock.
  10. He can win shooting any gun he wants, he just gets paid to shoot the one he does I prefer steel framed guns also, but mags are important. I have a Caspian that is waiting on good mags. If you do go with a Para or Springfield using the STI/SV mags will save some headaches.
  11. The xd trigger can be fixed to super nice, and since I mostly shoot SV's is is the easiest crossover.
  12. How far can you see We have a range that goes out to 1k yards but I have no idea how far they will set up the targets.
  13. When shooting open I don't focus on the dot, just the target. When I've been shooting iron sights for a while it takes a bit to adjust to looking through the dot because of the shift of vision that you get used to shooting limited sights. On tighter shots I look at the dot a bit, not nearly as much as I would with irons. Hope this helps some.
  14. With limited sights you can catch the front post in your vision sooner than you do a dot. That is my theory anyway. That's why I think it is faster with a limited gun up close, move the targets out a ways and the dot gets the edge.
  15. I think it is easier to draw a stock gun also.
  16. Anyone have a good pic of Sharyn, I have Photoshop too I'll make sure it is PG13
  17. Ivan, you big white guy, you sure look like a terrorist to me What a pain in the @ss.
  18. I've seen a trend in our area from Glocks to XD's. People seem to just like the way the fit, point, and shoot. I've done about 20 trigger jobs, so I'd be really surprised if there aren't a heck of a lot more XD's this year at nats. Parts is the only bugger about them, besides switching out the front sight. As far as Glock owning production, Dave S owns it for now, whatever he decides to shoot
  19. ...or you could just a spray on sight black for competition and wipe it off when you are done.
  20. Is shooting a Glock torture enough (I'm just joking for you overlty sensitive Glock folks ) I can't imagine doing something like that on my dime. I'd shoot with a .50 is he wants
