  1. What's wrong with that? I start driving to school at 14, growing up in the country isn't so bad. Most everyone had a rilfe/shotgun (or more) in their cars/trucks too
  2. Listen to Rich Trying to underspring it isn't worth it.
  3. Headshots from 7 yards to 50 yards, 3 yards at a time.
  4. Did you adjust the white screw? If it's too high it will cause a headache.
  5. Not yet, I've played with one, they seem ok. I'm going to get one to play with, but I'm not sure when.
  6. "frame erosion"???????? It's a joke, because the champ has a specialy modified at the factory, prototype, one of a kind, not available to anyone else, gun that had a sharp edge eased. There are several great guns, I like the XD because I skip around between divisions and the triggers I set up are almost the same.
  7. Any time I lose is unacceptable to me The reason experience counts is that you know what needs to be done, thus less nerves, if you've seen it, done it, it's no big deal, and easier to focus on the shooting. I'm tough on myself, but when I focus on the shooting, the times come much closer. Trust yourself and make good shots in practice. Simple, but not easy. Best of luck
  8. Why not? There is no rule stating 2 hits per paper target.
  9. I noticed registration is until 17:00, what about those coming in after 5:00 on Thursday? Is there a shooters meeting Thursday night?
  10. Shootersconnection.com has the Zero 125 JHP.
  11. Kimber makes a wide variety of .45 if he wants a SS .45 for a good price. Buying a gun and getting it made over is a waste of $ IMO with the quality of the Springfields and Kimbers offered today. For a few more bucks STI and SVI make nice guns.
  12. Your score is always what it should be... ... because it is what you scored. The champions score better because they harness the energy and focus it into performing better. The shooting part is the easy, the rest is hard, especialy when you know you have to be near perfect to win when there is real competition around. Practice is practice, no one shot to win, matches you get one shot to do it perfect. There is a difference, but at a certain point you have to treat everthing the same. Every shot you take is just as important. If you've been shooting 18 months and think you could walk away with most matches, you might need to re-think where you really are. There are lots of shooters who've put in a lot more time and energy than you could have possibly done in 18 months. Not to slight you in anyway, but there are so many shooters that just have tons more skill and experience out there, so maybe think about the fact that they might have skills that you aren't even aware of yet, and keep pushing the limits. Just because you don't see them everyday, some will show up at the major matches and the results don't lie. They have the same amount of stress to deal with, and they know that it is each shot that will either break them or make them. Experience each shot and forget about what everone else has done, or is doing, and you will perform to the level you are capable of at that moment in time. It is a never ending journey, because people are always raising the bar.
  13. 5 minutes per hundred... Is that enough reason for a 1050?
  14. I know a store who has one, PM me if you haven't found one yet.
  15. Any pictures from the top? Can you call that a pistol isn't it a bullpup rifle? Where do the sights go?
  16. Thank you for your service and congratulations for passing the pride on.
  17. When watching yourself you might try asking, "Does it look smooth?" Smooth/efficient is fast and reliable. I think you should worry less about beating the timer and more on technique that is efficient.
  18. Funny, I had a warranty that said if "you break it" you get a free replacement, well I managed to break the antanae and they said it wasn't covered, but if I ran it over with the car that was covered, so guess what... ... I offered to take it to the parking lot and run it over. I did get a new phone
  19. Most Americans live in a society of comfort, greed, and excess and forget our past and the sacrifices made by those who came before us. As Amercians we must never forget the WHY behind why our lives are so good. Those of you who are hunkered down in the desert, sailing the seas, flying the skys, or riding a desk provide me the freedom to pursue my dreams. The movie "Blackhawk Down" spurred me to expres my grattitude on this forum. I know it's only a movie, but in watching the interviews with the actors and their commitment to honor the people who lived the experience, I do believe it expresses the heart behind most of those who serve selflessly. I know that the two guys who roped in, knowing the odds of returning, are why our military (and country) is great. Like this forum, life is about passing "it" on, so I personally appreciate all of the thoughts and feelings expressed in this thread.
  20. Tripp does a great job. If you have them do all the small pins and pieces it looks really nice.
  21. OK, it is cool Sandoz I got the pile of pistols done, now it is time for some sleep.
