  1. I like nice watches. I own a couple that are not Rolex Presidential expensive, but cost more than a watch should. All of my expensive watches were bought brand new and have been used with respect... None of them are 100% accurate and it pisses me off terribly. One in particular loses time like mad and has been returned to the manufacturer multiple times to no avail. Tough and accurate? Casio. Need something upclass for business? Citizen. Seth
  2. Consider yourself lucky. If his word wasn't good, then he probably lied about how the bike was maintained and whethere it needed any work.
  3. Bart, I take it you found the stages to be... surprising... as well? Seth
  4. Be careful what you wish for. I spent nearly 10 years working in the off road industry. I had one of the jobs that you'd think, from the outside looking in, would be a dream come true. In reality it was great for about 6 mos. Then the illusion wore off and it became work... then... it became worse than work. At least when I was at work, everyone else was too. When you work for the industry, there will be times when you have to work and everyone else gets to go play. I can't begin to tell you how many times I wound up with my rockcrawler out in the middle of Moab, UT (think heaven to a rock crawler) having to work and not getting to go play. It sucks. On the flip side, I did get to talk about what I enjoyed every day. I got to meet lots of folks that shared the passion and many are still friends. But it did soil the passion some. Seth
  5. I had it coming. I should've DNF'd instead of running that stage (I was 7 stages in of the 9 stage match). I was drinking as fast as I could, but still was starting to get a little dizzy. I figured I could very carefully plow through, but I was wrong. I was unsafe and got what I deserved. The only downside is that I ran the two classifiers well and they would've bumped me up a class. I'm quite disappointed that I lost the scores.
  6. Terribly hot. Insufferably so. I got DQ'd on a reload. So overheated I broke the 180. Stages were rather tricky, I thought. Seth
  7. No chemicals in the chamber or bore -- see Wil Schuemann's essay. Breakfree for cleaning, tetra for lube.
  8. Thanks. I spoke with a rep saturday AM and he gave me an RA. I appreciate the stellar service! Hopefully I can get into a 550 this year! S.
  9. 200gr SWC with 4.2gr Clays. Snappy.
  10. UPS is typically more reliable for ground. FedEx is horrible for ground, but still excellent for overnight. We had so many problems with FedEx ground that customers started requesting UPS. But most of what I ship is heavy and ground.
  11. I ship a LOT of stuff for my business. Both Fed Ex and UPS have delivery guarantees. If the vendor did their part and the delivery company screwed up, call them with the tracking number and they'll refund you.
  12. Yep. I use a Blade-Tech DOH for an STI Edge for my Edge and Springfield SS. Its not a carry holster, so I don't mind its not perfect on the SS, but with a few turns of a screw driver there's MORE than enough retention. I can actually flip the holster and shake it and the Springer won't fall out.
  13. I shoot cast SWCs in my SS. Ran 320 of them through the gun on Sunday at A8 with zero failures. I'm 100% certain it could've run another 300 rounds that day without issue -- probably double that. But if I had to shoot 400 rounds per day, I'd take the time in the evening to clean her up. 10 minutes of cleanup in the slide and extractor, lube the rails, couple of good scrubs with a chore boy and ready again.
  14. I have a SDB that has the threaded insert back out of the frame at the primer system. I don't really want to reuse it, as its a little boogered from backing the SHCS out of it. Does anyone know off hand what size it is or am I stuck calling Dillon in the Am? Seth (should the new one be helicoiled or locktited?)
  15. I thought so. I've chrono'd 3 times in the last 2 months and came out with about a 168pf consistently. Area 8 had it at 179pf. I figure some was temp, some was elevation gain, but that was a big jump.
  16. ROFL! Thanks for sharing... I'm crying
  17. 100% sure of what? I realize that IF the sights were on target before they lifted that you get the resulting hole. But can you walk around the course and tell me where the shots went without seeing the target after shooting an entire stage?
  18. I shot my first major match on Sunday at Area 8. I had zero misses on paper (I did have a couple of no shoots and couple of hard cover), but I didn't MISS the target. The bullet still hit the target, albeit in the wrong place. I KNOW I have good sight focus and if I jerk a shot or miss, I know to make it up. But at top speed, I can't tell you WHERE the bullet impacted the target, only that it was in the right place. At SPEED how much do you know? Can you tell me where the shots hit each target or THAT they hit the target. How much processing of each shot are you doing beyond being certain that it went where you intended? Seth
  19. Since gas will be $19.00 per gallon, I appreciate your bringing it 275 miles closer! Seth
  20. Thanks for all the hard work!!! That was FUN!!!!!! I shot Sunday with a great group of folks from Jersey. Shooting those stages with a Single Stack was WAY challenging, especially since this was my first level 3 match. Nothing was 'impossible' and I found the biggest challenge was all the mag changes. Thanks again! Seth
  21. I have just started shooting USPSA this year and started in Single Stack. It seems like the perfect way to learn the courses, learn economy of motion, learn the rules.... oh and learn to do a LOT of mag changes. My limited pea shooter is waiting patiently for me to earn the right to shoot her. Seth
  22. Top Gear has all the grit, unabashed truth, and ascerbic wit that I live for. One of my favorites....
  23. I have a Blade-Tech DOH for my STI Edge and want to use it in USPSA for my Single stack without the DOH feature. The holster retains the gun very well, completely covers the trigger and us much faster than the Safariland I was using before... however it doesn't fit perfectly (Edge has full length dust cover, SS doesn't) and the gun can rock about a 1/4". It won't fall out and there's zero gained advantage. Can I run this legally? I've read the rules several times and the only thing I get caught on is the RO's discretion... what would be a reason for disallowing it? Seth `
  24. Bought a big ass TV. Thanks for giving me my own money back....
  25. Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock,Tick, Tock, I NEED THE CLOCK TO MOVE FASTER!!!! SOMEBODY TELL ME TO MAKE READY!!!!! Seth (Arriving Saturday PM. Save the goodies!!!)
