  1. Sorry to wake up a sleeping thread but I and a few friends just found out about this and we're leaving for Nationals in 2 days. Although I don't paint my magwell another buddy does and it's his first Nationals. That would suck if they put him in Open. The question is how is it that he would be put into Open when they are shooing a different match right now? After they're done the stages will be redone for us Production types. Maybe we should have Duracoat come up with a new pattern called 'barberpole' or 'candystripe'. Then we can refinish our frames and apply black grip tape to the frames. Then the inside of the magwells will be exactly what some want and it will only cost you a zillion dollars to have what used to be free.
  2. Hmmm, I got a VM and text from someone there that the hotel was "Bad. B-A-D" Hope that's not the case.
  3. Well I'm glad I looked here. When I tried the link on the USPSA Nationals page the rates were ALOT more expensive. Why don't they list the link about? When called they were very very unhelpful.
  4. Doing research online, there are a bunch of places you can find them for $350. Shipping costs is probably the only thing that seperates them.
  5. Dang it, they didn't have the flat springs from the place I ordered mine from.
  6. I've been watching that as well Doug. Problem is a typical one though; resources. Those with plenty of it will be winning, those without will be working hard to come in behind them.
  7. Wow, at just under 2K you could afford to get a SX3, do the work yourself, add the extras and still shoot an away match. The only thing I had to have someone else do was lift up the carrier for like $50. The work on the receiver doesn't even look that uniform.
  8. I know this is dated but if the pistons are breaking, doesn't that mean that the spring broke? If that's the case, what does it matter if the body is made of aluminum or steel if it's not the body that's breaking but the spring?
  9. That was the absolute coolest stage I've ever shot. Huge props go out to Ian, Pete, Don and Earl. Thank you all for the experience.
  10. Maybe I'm biased since I was working the match, but that was one of the best multigun matches I've ever shot. Stages were simple and straight forward. There was no tricky business so when you screwed up, it was because YOU screwed up, nothing more. Although I like to blame otherthings for my lack of ability, it was pretty hard to find someone else to blame. Every comfort was put in the stage as well by providing carpets, barrels, cool water and everything that a shooter needs to get through without having to break themselves just to get up to shoot and make a shot. Those lunches were great! That shoot house was the coolest thing that any competitive shooter will ever get the chance to do. A great big thanks for stage 2 go out to Ian for building it and making it happen. Having all major calls being made by the MD took all the worry away from strange RO's imposing thier will on the shooter even though it added pressure to Doug himself. And when have you ever shot a match where you had more prizes than shooters? And at a match that wasn't supposed to have prizes anyway? Too cool. I don't recall seeing or meeting any unhappy people short of those unlucky shooters who got poped primers using XM193. Bsd ammo, bad! I'm really glad I went and had a great time not just shooting but running shooters. Being located in Albany and next to Corvalis also provided a lot of really good places to eat and brewerys. Like the governator said, 'I'll be back'.
  11. You get what you pay for in optics and it seems that decent glass starts at about $600.
  12. During the last training class we had, it was raining a not too cold. Two Trijicon TR24 got waterlogged (two buddies of mine), one H1 (mine) and a T1 (another buddies) stopped working (that I know of). Other optics got so covered in water along with our eyepro and then everything started fogging over (the lenses of our glasses and then the glass on the optics) the smart ones in the class ditched thier optics in later strings of fire and went to irons. Optics are awesome, until you can't use them anymore. Doesn't help to have BUIS when you can't even see through the optics anymore or if you can't remove them to get to the irons. That's why you need QD. It's only not worth it until you run into needing them off and they don't come off.
  13. Can anyone say how big the dot is? If it's as big as it looks, that's a big fail. One of the greatest things about the Meaopta to me was the tiny 1MOA dot.
  14. Idaho Falls last year schooled me in driving to remote locations in the middle of the desert regardless of how awesome Tim is. If I'm gonna fly, it may as well be to an Area match closer to civilazation with lot's of resources to pull from.
  15. Where's the +1 and like buttons...
  16. Thanks Scott, do you do the barrel extensions as well or remove them first?
  17. Refinishing the barrel as a whole. Do you include the barrel extension as well or would that need to be removed?
  18. Can you refinish Noveske/LaRue/PacNor/etc. barrels without a detriment to accuracy? I know LaRue Ionbonds thier barrels but can it be done after the fact without causing issues? Is the barrel extension then refinished to and would it extend the life of the barrel?
  19. So maybe I just can't find it but I've looked. Is the top 20 list still on there anywhere as well as the number and class of shooters in each division for each state?
  20. So really, why use a 1050 then if you can't feel what you're doing and it's only a matter of time?
  21. I took a round file to the inside of it and then reblued it. It's still tight but easier. I'm pretty sure it was a .060 that I used.
  22. Ya, I screwed the pooch on this one too. Oh well.
  23. You're right, if you have targets you're engaging from around a corner and you've already engaged the first two, would you need to take cover from them? I mean you are already behind cover, just not for those targets. The way I've always translated it before was yes, there are targets and so whether you have engaged them or not, you must still seek cover. Since it was never specifically addressed, I've gone with what has been addressed and that is behind cover is behind cover regardless if the targets still impose a threat or not. So it seems that the easiest way to fix all the problems is for Headquarters to finally say if targets have already been engaged, do you still need to take cover from them or not on the reload. If we can get clarrification on that, then all else will fall into place. That way if you're covering a 10' gap and not exposed to the next set, can you reload or can't you.
