  1. So what's a good solvent to get the lead out? Some of this stuff is stubborn and doesn't want to come out.
  2. No, they are gunking it up pretty good. Only 450 more left.
  3. Accuracy wasn't good with the BC out of a G19 either.
  4. Well after 50 there's a noticable amount of leading going on. I took it up to almost 300 before cleaning it out completely. Guess that answers that.
  5. Well accuracy testing while I chronoed won't have me going back anytime soon to BC. Groups were not good and the occasional flier was wide. Very wide. Like where the hell did that come from wide. Like that's 8 inches away from the nearest group wide.
  6. Thanks for the replys. I'm running Solo 1000 with the Bear Creeks bullets. Chronoed various charges from 4.4 - 4.6 today and cleaning up the barrel really good. It was dirty before I started so I need to clean it up really well and try a few at a time tomorrow. Frankly, I'm not too impressed with those Bear Creek bullets and wouldn't be suprised if they don't work out.
  7. I have a bunch of Bear Creek moly bullets loaded up and I was going to start shooting a G19 for awhile. Will they gum up the barrel just the same as lead will?
  8. Alright! Looks like others have already done it. The plan is set!
  9. Where did you pick up the cylinder from?
  10. Sounds like it's feesable. I won't be shooting it for long so I'm not worried about working with lead, shouldn't take more than 500 - 1000 rounds to get comfortable enough with running a revolver to hit the times. And the times are gratious enough to use the HKS loaders although it would be nice to have the Jets. I was just hoping that I could get away with useing a 629 instead of the 686 so that it would go with my lever gun. Don't want to have to have a new cartridge to load for. As for the MG it does have a flat point but that's only at the tip, still plenty of taper to find the holes I'm thinking. I don't know though, never ran a revolver before. I was just wondering if there were any technical issues with using such a large fram with shooting fast. I know the 625 have timing issues pretty quickly from all that weight spinning around. Really just need to worry about the weight issue. Thanks everyone.
  11. MG also makes a 240gr JSP.
  12. No 625 for me, I have no need for a revolver in 45 and no moonclips in SSR, only ESR. S&W lists thier 4" 629 as 41.5oz so it should make weight just fine.
  13. Revolver is the last division that I need my Master in for IDPA, I won't be using it in USPSA or ICORE. I was going to get a 686 and cut it for moonclips so that I can do Revolver and Enhanced Revolver but would a 629 work? What are the drawbacks? I figured PF would be easier for a 44 special and it would load faster and it would make a good companion for my leverl 44mag. Do they make speedloaders or moonclips for it?

I didn't know that you could ride the sear just right to get it to malfunction. How is it that he didn't get DQ'd?
  15. Results still not up on USPSA? Missing people on the unofficial results? Dissapointing... but I guess we should be used to that by now for this match. So many spoke so highly of it and we looked forward to it for the last few months; a true shame.
  16. Well I ordered a new spring from Brownells but apparantly it's not the one with the mag extension. Where do you guys get your springs from?
  17. Well it was a good thing I brought a few spare items. First day we got to the range 10 minutes before the first stage to find that one of our companions forgot thier belt and holster sitting on the hotel bed. Maybe not a backup gun, but that backup belt and holster sure saved the day.
  18. Good advice on splitting them up with a friend and between suitcases. Of course they don't break, but pins, springs and other parts do.
  19. Thanks for the confirmation Craig, that's what I wanted to know.
  20. Good enough. I've only flown with a handgun once and was a little paranoid about taking my two primarys with me.
  21. I've addressed that issue as I thought that's what it was. Didn't help so I'll try the spring.
  22. I thought of bringing a back up gun with me, identical to my regular gun just in case. I also have a whole bag of spare parts. Anyone here bring back ups to thier primarys? So is this a silly idea or worth the effort?
  23. I guess I'll just look at it like a recoil spring. Thanks guys.
  24. 1000rds? Holy cow that's more often than I've ever heard of any spring being replaced.
