  1. Toolguy has listed the most likely problems. The only other thing I can think of is a badly leaded barrel. A 625 is one of my favorite revolvers.
  2. I got to look at some Korth revolvers a few months ago. Fit and finish was really nice but the grips looked kind of cheap especially for a $5200 wheel gun. The gunshop would let you try the trigger on this one as it was a kind of demo model. I was disappointed, the weight was about average but the action was far from smooth. I know that can be fixed but for that kind of money you shouldn’t have to. But they are nice.
  3. I have an over travel screw on a couple of wheelguns and I like them. I shot PPC back in the day and staged the trigger at the 50 yard line. In IDPA I might stage the trigger on a long or tight shot. In Steel Challenge matches I don’t as it’s all about speed as long as you still hit the plate. Equipment and techniques advance and change over time, it’s all about what you works for you. If you want it, try it. Use or discard as you progress.
  4. Back in the wonderful days of affordable Star bullets several of us used their 124 grain bullet with about 4.0 grains of WW-231 and it was deadly accurate. I have loaded Bayou 147’s but would have to see if I still have that data. I use N320 now but still like WW 231 because it tends to be more available on a consistent basis than the VV powders.
  5. I believe that is a Dillon Alignment tool, stock number 13713. https://www.dillonprecision.com/rl-550-series-xl-650-platform-alignment-tool_8_6_26408.html I have one for my 650.
  6. Like many here I use 296/110 for jacketed 240 grain bullets and it works great, but it does produce respectable recoil. Horsepower always has a price. For midrange loads I’ve used Unique and WW 231 with mild recoil (compared to 296/110) and good accuracy. The powder choices we have now are so much greater than in years past.
  7. Good suggestions and Lucas makes some good products. I like having a needle applicator to help get oil where I want it instead of just in the general area. Their gun cleaner is supposed to be good but I haven’t found it locally yet. As always it seems the folks here on BE are very knowledgeable and helpful, and all help is appreciated.
  8. Over the years I have used BreakFree CLP, MPro7, oil for various types of equipment and machinery, synthetic motor oil, and various types and weights of grease . Just looking for something better that I might have missed. Nowadays there is some new product coming out every week.
  9. I have used Slide Glide since it first came out and no complaints.
  10. I’ve got a 617 and some K-frame and N-frame wheel guns (blue & stainless) with tuned actions that I’m going to clean as it’s to dang cold, wet, and muddy to shoot. I’ve tried multiple products over the years (decades) and wanted to find out what others here use and recommend, especially for the actions. Any advice and pointers appreciated. I shoot Steel Challenge, IDPA, and sometimes just plain ol’ BS when a bunch of us get together.
  11. I put some in the tumbler for a couple of hours and they were better than they were before. I put some in the Franklin steel pin tumbler and now they are nice, shiny, and clean. Whatever the black coating was is gone so I may hit them with a shot of G96 or something just to be safe.
  12. I don’t have the load data handy but I found 231 to be as accurate as Bullseye especially with 148 grain lead HBWC’s and 158 grain SWC’s. A few years back I couldn’t find Bullseye anywhere and started using 231 as did several others I shoot with.
  13. If it worked for 10 years then I will give it a try.
  14. CLP and a rag or toothbrush is as appealing as watching grass grow. LOL!
  15. I’m sure there is a thread for this but I couldn’t find it. I have a lot of moon clips that really need to be cleaned. I have a F.A.R.T. tumbler and Dillon tumblers with corn cob media as well as walnut. I don’t want to damage them but I also don’t want to clean them one at a time. Any suggestions are appreciated. And it’s just to dang cold to shoot right now!
  16. Hitting that ejector rod and it doesn’t move much can cause one to use colorful yet descriptive language. My reload is much the same as Jerry Miculek’s, but that’s where the comparison ends. I’m going to try a glove and see how it works. I heard many years ago that Miculek is actually a Terminator from Cyberdyne. I’ve seen nothing to discredit this.
  17. I shoot a 625 but haven’t shot a 929, and I can see where it could get warm. As to old, arthritis, and set in my ways, well, I worked at it a long time!
  18. Nice photos! I’ve shot a lot of wheelguns over the years and I’m interested in what a golf glove does. Probably everyone else knows and I’m just a bit slow today.
  19. I’ve loaded a lot of their 38 Special HBWC’s over the years and the quality was excellent. Any company can have a problem , the manner in which they respond speaks volumes.
  20. The case feeder is the best money I’ve spent on my 650. It greatly improves production.
  21. Aside from crushing primers did it also crush cases? Mine does and I think it’s going back to Dillon. Has a lot of of rounds on it and I’m not the most mechanically inclined person. LOL
  22. A friend had pretty much the same diet. If it tastes good spit it out. He lost so much weight it was amazing.
  23. You may have some crud in the channel liner.
