  1. Data is data, better external ballistics just give you more room for error.
  2. Do I need a 2011?...... The short answer is YES.
  3. While working with that exact same combo I went to 6.4+ before I had "issues" but nothing permanant. It was a 1911, results may vary.
  4. Calling the match was tough for everyone & probably hardest on Andy. I hope to never be put in his position. I was very pleased with the stages I got to shoot. The blind stage was really being propped up as a "big deal" by other shooters. One guy said it was the best/coolest stage he'd ever shot. I was sceptical but when I did get to shoot it I was NOT let down. Andy was his usual good natured self & I/we like his style. The Rock Castle shooting center is perfect for a match with the on site hotel & restraunt, their staff is great. I was really glad to get to see so many friends & acquaintences, I just wish there was more time to visit with everyone. Damon
  5. I always like seeing dogs @ the range.
  6. I took a GF to a defensive shooting course once. EVERY guy there wanted to spend their time "helping" her. I let the instructor know IT HAD TO STOP. He announced, in a polite way, advise from fellow classmates wasnt always welcome or relevant. She was a very polite person & that led people to believe their advise was not only welcome but wanted. I am hesitant to invite myself into helping a woman because they hear so much crap what makes you any different. Additionally, I WILL certainly NOT walk right past their significant other to "help", to do so is very disrespectful. We couldnt shoot anywhere with out her being pummeled with "helpers", I found it overwhelmingly distracting not only for her but me as well. I'd prefer she used some of the more direct approaches that were listed in previous posts. At least it would stop the repeat performers.
  7. I'd just go with it. I shoot 55s A LOT & have not had issues even past 4.
  8. I have 2. 1 in a rifle lenth system & 1 in a short system. The rifle lenth system has no noticeable negative impacts, locks open on last rd too. The carbine is noticeably tougher to lock back but does lock on an empty mag. In the carbine it did noticeably dampen recoil as I did a "feel test". I didnt do it with the other system but I have ran close to 10,000 rds through it & no issues. The carbine has seen only 1000rds or so.
  9. I use slide glide in my BCG
  10. This adds up. The trigger on a 1911 doesnt hinge, you may have been dipping with the beretta but adjusted it out with the sights, but most likely its just a product of different trigger mechanics, trigger weight & the guns reaction to our human influence. As far as pulling to the right, my guess is (again) based on the difference of trigger mechanics you are "pulling it" there. It wont take long & this will go away. I have the same thing happen in reverse, also being left handed. I occasionally have to transition to a beretta for military matches, the opposite happens to me. I shoot low. The best advise I got was let the trigger break when its ready not when you are ready. After a few sessions it will get less and less then it wont happen at all.
  11. Zerwas- I run Tripp 10mm length mags & will sometimes have problems if I run "short" factory length ammo in my 40SS. In my opnion the 10mm mags are best suited for loading long, I have no problems when doing that.
  12. are you talking about the CH-53?
  13. I did that untill I got a .40 barrel in my delta. I experienced no issues.
  14. I've shot the ITRC. I just thought you guys may want to also. I remember a team using a pistol last year. Unless you had a break open I dont think a ss bolt action would be a real disadvantage.
  15. JP components offer tunability that cant be denied, however, ARs are tunable in more areas than just the gas block. I run a brake & enidine buffer with my Adams Arms piston gun. Of the 3 AA systems I use, all are equiped with FF tubes. I ran 5,000+ rds through my main AA gun last year. I shot that paritcular gun in several matches to include the ITRC. Notably, in the gully course the gun did not get too hot to hold onto, which can be a problem (it seems like that course used 15ish(?)30rd magazines). I had exactly 4 malfs & i'll tell you why- I was trying a Hi-Power trick of putting grease in my buffer tube, turns out you can put too much in. I dont feel like there are any notable disadvantages but I can only speak for the Adams Arms piston system in particular.
  16. I shot 500 lead through mine just last night. I load with CLAYS. It smokes some, I wouldnt let that slow you down though.
  17. Ran 2000 rds through my CMMG 22 conversion over the last 2 days. First 1000 no lube, 2nd 2000 with some FP 10, have not cleaned it. Had 3 or 4 malfs. I'm pretty happy with it.
  18. I'm going to be running one of these this year as soon as they ship. The Razor 1-4 with 5.56 reticle looks VERY well thought out.
