  1. Looks like 82.20%. Nice work! mattk
  2. Looks like it's going to be a little over 91%. Nice work. mattk
  3. Hey, it was my 4th IDPA match and I've only shot the classifier match twice. I missed M by .04 seconds on my second try and I suck at the IDPA reloads. Dropping mags and then putting them in your pocket isn't so good I'm ok with L2S beating me by 20 seconds. I've known for awhile now that I can't hang with GMs when they're having a great day. mattk
  4. The main difference between 'Six' and 'Seven' would be the start position. I don't think that's enough to have a HHF three points lower, at least for Production. I'm an A-class shooter and I shot this one today and got a 96% score. mattk
  5. Limited = 109.44% Open = 103.96% Nice work! mattk
  6. Actually, you have to shoot it annually, to maintain your classification. Unless you're a Master. From page 52: mattk
  7. If you could somehow get the total number of current IDPA members and the break down of the highest attained classification no matter the division, my guess would be the total number of Master class shooters would be less than 10%. Now we're arguing about creating another classification for one percent of those shooters? How much sense does that make? How about we name the new classifications after the shooters who attain them? I guessing on the times, but you'll get the point. Down to 64 seconds and you're Matt Burkett class Down to 60 seconds and you're Ernie Langdon class Down to 55 seconds and you're Dave Sevigny class There sure it a lot of argument over what amounts $20 worth of trophies and medals. mattk
  8. Everyone at a major IDPA has the exact same chance of walking away from the prize table with the top prize. I guess there are a lot of people with egos that need the additional $20 trophy to be satisfied with their placement. I am not a Master class IDPA shooter, I have been an Expert SSP shooter for almost two years now. The first thing I do when I get the match results is to reorder them from fastest to slowest to see where I placed. I like to see how I faired against the Masters as well as the other Experts. An additional classification isn't going to tell me anything different from what I already know. I need to practice more to see my name closer to the top. mattk
  9. Keep the classification system. It gives the majority of shooters a tangible way to gauge progress. mattk
  10. That is some funky front strap texturing. I like the looks of it though, very different. Not only is Randy a fantastic gunsmith, but he's an all around great guy. mattk
  11. Your classifier score looks like it'll be a low A-class score, possibly high B-class. I'm starting to think that classifier is an over representation of what people truly can do. My guess is you could probably classify as a low B-class shooter. You're going to do well standing and shooting, but you may have some difficulties when it comes to breaking down a stage that requires movement as well as how to do the moving and shooting efficiently. mattk
  12. I think you may be onto something here Ron. For Production, the HHF for this classifier is more than three points lower than for CM 08-04. They are nearly the same stage, if anything Seven should have the lower HHF. Shoot it before it gets changed! mattk

    F1

I think a big difference between F1 and NASCAR, when it comes to passing, is the width of the track. Look at some of those super speedway ovals, there can be three plus cars side by side through the corners. The first corner of every F1 race is the most entertaining part of the race, 22 cars battling for position to go through a corner single file. Most NASCAR tracks have two racing lines. Formula One tracks generally have only one racing line. mattk
  14. Production is where all the cool people hang out. Not sure why I'm there...

    F1

I enjoy Formula One immensely, but some of the rule changes in the last few seasons have been pushing it more and more into the realm of NASCAR. I don't want every car to be the same. I want to see a company like Toyota spend hundreds of millions of dollars and still get it wrong. I don't want to see a Micro$oft ECU in every car. There have always been haves and have-nots in F1. That's the way it should be, it breeds innovation. Instead we're seeing a slow transformation into a socialist's idea of motor racing utopia. mattk
  16. I shot the "Bang and Clang" classifier a couple weeks ago. My draw to the left rear popper was in the 1.2 range, I think. I shoot a Sig P226 out of a Blade Tech Stingray with the DOH attachment. mattk
  17. Don't worry, Paul and his axe are there standing guard over the front gate. I'd say he's about 20 feet tall, at least! mattk
  18. Hey Albert, What's that grip tape doing on the bottom of your trigger guard? mattk
  19. Damn, I was looking forward to Spudgun. Going to have to find something else to do. mattk
  20. I say this is great progress. I wish more department leaders would follow this lead. mattk
  21. How important is it to use a EGW Undersized Die when loading Monana Gold bullets? What exactly is "Glocked brass?" mattk
  22. I have five CR Speed pouches on my belt. Most of the time I store my first magazine in the fifth pouch. Once the buzzer sounds, I've only got four spare magazines. Only a handful of times I've actually carried fifth spare magazines for a stage. mattk
