  1. I keep an Excel spreadsheet for each pistol that I own. I can tell exactly how many rounds I have fired through a particular pistol and how long ago the last spring change occurred.
  2. I know for the club I run that match attendance is up a little bit over last year. I think last year we averaged 52 shooters per match. This year we're averaging 59 shooters. Of the six matches I've put on so far this year only one had less than 60 shooters and that was due to horrible weather. mattk
  3. Ben, Fantastic result at Area 3. Congratulations! Having watched most of your Google shooting videos I have a hard time questioning your fitness level. I think that people like you and I who live and train in cooler climates are going to have difficulties when travelling to matches that are in hotter climates. Not much you can do, but drink and eat constently. Again, congratulations! mattk
  4. We shot this one at a local match yesterday. 5.76 seconds, 54 points, 9.3750 HF Looks like it'll be my third Production GM classifier. I didn't review all 12 shots, but my draw was a fairly pedestrian 1.29 seconds, with 0.2 second splits, and 0.4 second transitions. I'm always amazed at the number of people who post on these forums about 0.8 second draws, 0.1 second splits, and 0.2 second transitions. I didn't look at the shot to shot reload time. mattk
  5. By my calculations your percentage will be 86.9971%, which is still a Master class score. Way to go! mattk
  6. Interesting. It looks like my Production score stuck. mattk
  7. What happens to the scores previously posted for this classifier before the HHF adjustment? Will they all change too, or will they stand as is? Thanks! Nice shooting Madcap! mattk
  8. I agree with this. A couple of months back I shot a stage that finished with a Texas Star. I shot the stage on cruise control and everything was going great. I got the Texas Star and got the top three plates no problem. Then my conscious mind kicked in with "Man, you're really burning this Texas Star down!" The next thing I know is I miss the fourth plate. I regrouped and went one for one on the final two plates. It was still a really good stage for me, but it definitely was an eye opening experience of how the conscious mind can really screw things up if you let it. mattk
  9. The few weeks leading up to Area 1 I was a bit concerned with my loads making minor when it counted. So every time I saw someone pull a chronograph out at the range I asked to shoot a few rounds through it. I was able to shoot through four different chronographs: Oehler 35P, PACT Professional XP, CED M2, and CED Millennium. All of which consistently put my loads in the 128.0-128.5 PF range. Match day I was at 130.3 PF. mattk
  10. Congrats Madcap! That's a fantastic accomplishment! mattk
  11. Hi Aristotle, Looking at the results, my biggest comment would be that you dropped 52 points in a match that required 77 shots. Fifty two points down is way too many! Slow down, watch and trust your sights. It seems like you've cut down on the mechanical issues, which is good. You've made a lot of progress in the last year. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be there in no time! mattk
  12. One of these days I'm going to start shooting L-10 and I've got the perfect pistol all ready to go: mattk
  13. Are you trying to get the HHF for 'Seven' skewed down a bit or are you trying to get 'Six' skewed up a bit? mattk
  14. I'm just waiting for Sig Sauer to start shipping their .22LR conversion kits for the P226. I think you're right about people shooting more .22LR, at least until center fire ammo prices come down a bit. mattk
  15. Find a range that rents pistols and do some testing. mattk
  16. Why's that? I measured his magazines a few weeks ago and they fit the gauge. How about your big stick magazines, do they fit the gauge?
  17. Looks good Mitch. I hope you have tons of success with it! Which division will you be shooting at Area 1? mattk
  18. Looks good! I think you should shoot a match or two without sights. What division will you be shooting at Area 1?
  19. Perhaps Renton in a week then. I look forward to seeing what JPL and you came up with. Have fun at commencement! mattk
  20. Are you going to do the shake down at Marysville? mattk
  21. A ban from USPSA seems a bit harsh. Unless the prank had gone unnoticed and catastrophic failure occurred. A match DQ for unsportsmanlike conduct seems justifiable. matk
  22. An example of when range pranks go wrong. mattk
  23. What did you use to paint the Glock? mattk
  24. Yes he is fast. Four division GMs tend to be that fast. I may not be winning any local matches yet, but most of the time I can hold my own against the four Production GMs in the area. My time will come! mattk
