  1. I've been getting lots of different answers on which hi-cap frame is best to build a 9x19 open gun with. It's probably not the frame but the magazine that is more important in feeding reliability. Most have said SV or SxI with spacers in the mags, some swear by their Para O. My Caspian mags are temperamental, I get lots of nose dives due to the length and the tapered round doesn't really stack very well. josh
  2. That is a nice and unique looking gun. 6" slide with a 9lb spring hmmm... it's doable. What range was that 5 shot group shot at?
  3. I have to step back, too far back to take pictures of my whole collection and then you won't be able to enjoy the picture. Sorry josh
  4. Oh! no! you have balls of steel! We need Ahhnuld... the tuhmeenatar.
  5. That looks like one heck of a light slide - is the comp titanium? Might want to opt for a C-more scope. I use to have Tasco PDP3s on my open guns but then the C-Mores are so much durable, nicer, faster and most of all the best feature it provides; much much lighter. For a steel gun it deserves a C-More or OKIdot. Nice P9 and Witness. josh

    Ugly Open

You haven't cleaned it since what? YUK! Just kidding. It's your gun not mine so why does it bug me? Have fun with your pretty blaster. josh
  7. NICE! How does it shoot? I've always wanted one for shooting steel, but I can't afford to adding another inventory of supply parts for another type of blaster. Hmmm... maybe someday. josh

    Ugly Open

How do you clean it with the rear sight on? josh
  9. Where's the woooooood at ?... I don't see any.
  10. EricW, hmmmm.... something about the red grip, green fiber optic and those hideously shaped thumbguard with the ugly paddles. Also the hammer's round hole and lightening cut clashes big time with those hideously shaped thumbguard with the ugly paddles. Did you try to cut the grip tape so it will match those hideously shaped thumbguard with the ugly paddles? You shoul've just bought TT's limited gun. I'm just kidding man. The gun looks great. Is it accurate?
  11. Nice looking blaster there. Keep us informed how it shoots.
  12. Because Caspian Arms sent TT a pair of brand new 2nd Gen frames checkered, fitted with slides and Schuemann barrels ready to be sent to EGW or Craig AND those guns in the pictures are for sale. Or is it TT switching to SVI modular frames and those Caspian guns are being sold. josh
  13. T.O.E., you are correct!
  14. C-More with 6 moa is what I have on both of my open guns. I started with a Tasco PDP3 for a while, both guns had PDP3s on them and I liked the 10moa dot. It was quick locating the dot by using the tube as a reference, what I didn't like was all the weight - Heavy scope, rings and mount or a 5 oz 3 piece mount. Then I switch one of my guns to a C-More, it was fun because it was something new. I had a hard time with the scope specially during strong hand only drills, then it really got hard with weak hand only drills too. I was using the open gun with the PDP3 more often than the one topped with C-More. But I did a lot of dry firing with the C-More topped gun, then one day it just dawned on me. When I got used to the C-More it was actually faster than the PDP3. Transitions were faster and my draws immensely dropped down in time. Now all I use is C-more in my open guns and my PDP3s got a new life mounted on my hunting handgun and AR15. josh
  15. Batangueno, Yes it will and if you have a heavier MS to be replaced by a 17 lb MS it will be lighter. Problem is you will have to check it again for reliability and see if it will have hammer follow. In my experience changing to a lighter MS will not cause hammer follow problems but I've heard people claiming it happened to them. See you kabayan. josh
  16. Sounds like you haven't been guaging your match rounds. I'm not sure how tight your chamber is but if it's in the minimum tolerance then firing 4 times fired brass may just be too much for clearance, specially range picked brass. Get some new brass to reload or some factory loads and see if the problem exist. josh
  17. I suppose if the disconnector doesn't have a smooth channel to ride in or the trigger bow and areas where it contacts the sear are not smooth then the trigger pull weight will also suffer. I've used many different brands of disconnector and so far none has failed me except for a surplus type that was very out of spec. The best I've used is the C&S polished, a little bit pricey but the quality is worthed. josh
  18. EricW, As long as it doesn't affect the tension on the sear and trigger leaf then you'll be fine. Set the spring on a vise before tweaking it, if you do it by hand more than likely you'll mess up the one for the sear. josh
  19. Very nice! Why didn't you get the open gun's grip shaped and textured like your limited gun? Let us know how they shoot. josh
  20. Use the force... Nice Lightsabers we must have.
  21. Just want to verify that your gun is capable of firing 9mm Parabellum and 38 Super? Does your gun have any accuracy issues when firing 9mm parabellum? I've seen it done at the range a 9x21 gun firing 9x19 ammo, but not 38 super gun firing 9x19 ammo. I would like to know how it's done reliably. What kind of extractor does it have? josh
  22. Nice! Slide lightening is very complex. I would rather stay with rounded cuts instead of forming corners. When you have a sharp corner it's just aching for a hairline crack to form up. Good job on the gunsmith part. Are you planning of lightening the slide some more? What caliber is it in? josh
  23. I use a laser on my AR-15 16" barreled rifle. In dim light I could engage targets up to 200 meters no problem and can use it as a range finder when I'm looking through my 4x scope with the relation of the dot on the vertical reticle. Tactical use it's a bust since you are broadcasting u have your weapon trained on the target and the target may take cover, while it might intimidate some poser criminal. I find the laser useful when running and engaging open targets in dim light. Try it if it works for you then keep it on your weapon. I will piggyback what's been said here, lasers aren't practical in IPSC. josh

    My Sti

Nice, U should've went with a red colored mag well!!! Go Red and get to shootin' Me thinks it looks cool Maybe a little splash of yellow or glowing apple green then it's really cool. josh
  25. I would agree with Detlef on this one. The Para slides have a bigger internal dimension than most slides like Colt, Caspian, S+I, etc..
