Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. To mount a scope on a G.17C would pose a problem namely the front part of the scope would be sitting right above the porting vents. I am looking for a mount whereby it will mount the scope as far back as possible. Preferably a mount for C-more. Any suggestions that might be of help to me?
  2. kbear38S, I have no problem locating the dot even with my eyes closed when doing the 'awareness axercise'with the Aimpoint. Maybe I did not give myself sufficient time when I tried the C-more. I was switching between the C-more & the Aimpoint and I found that the Aimpoint was much easier to shoot with at that time. Roger Rabbit, Now that you have switched over to OKO from Aimpoint, did you find any advantages in doing so? I need to invest in a new mount to fit the OKO and I am thinking of the CR Versa Mount. Mounts are limited for OKO for Tanfoglio frame.
  3. I want to have another go at the 'hud' type of scope. Shooting a tube style now / Aimpoint Comp. I have tried shooting the 'hud'(C-more) many years ago and I had problem locating the dot. I guess I did not try hard enough and also not given sufficient time to it. I have shortlisted down to two types of 'hud' which I like namely OKO & OMNI. Don't ask me why I did not include C-more. Nothing really just do not like it. The OMNI is heavier but you can change the dot size on the spot. It has a 33mm lens. It has all the good features but still is not very popular. Wonder why????? The OKO is the lightest and shortest even lighter and shorter than the C-more. It has a smaller lens / 26mm. OKO & OMNI are parallex-free. C-more lens is 28mm. The pros and the cons, brightness and the reliability aspect of it. I find that under the sun the 'hud' is harder to see as the dot seems to wash away.
  4. Shred, What do you mean when you said that 'the difference is huge & obvious when switching between them'. Do you mean that by swithing to a C-more there is a huge difference. So which is better?
  5. I am still using the first generation Comp which I bought in 1993/94. I started using this scope again early this year after a lapse of 6 years which I stopped shooting. I have no problem with it except that the lens are a bit scratched (is my fault really) and it looks like it has some dust accumulated inside the scope. Apart from that it works all the time. I am using three A-76/LR-44 batteries. The only complain is that the batteries do not last very long. They should last longer than a Tasco or equuivalent. Aimpoint has just launched a 7moa CompC which would be ideal for Practical shooting compared to 4moa. Since we are on the scope topic, has anyone try the Omnisight by Nowlin/Schuey? Always wanted to try a 'hud' type to see if there are any advantages over the tube type.
  6. I have this Rescomp extended battery cap as well and frankly it does not make any difference whatsoever to the brightness of the dot. I am still using the original cap and I am happy with it
  7. The above mentioned topic has appeared in this forum before and I cannot remember when. Anyway just want to find out from you guys who have their guns fitted with 'accurail'. Claims that the cycling of the gun is more consistent and gives the gun a solid one piece feel with the rail fitted. 1/ I remember reading it in the forum that it does break quite easily. 2/ When it does break do you need to ship it back to them to replace the rail? Or get prefitted spare rails and replace it yourself. 3/ If you have gun that has two topends is it advisable to have this rail fitted? 4/ Is going for around $215.00 per gun. Certainly not cheap at all but does it get the job done as claimed???
  8. The new Arreredondo holster. Looks neat on picture and any good?
  9. Helping a fellow shooter to find a good mount for Aimpoint Comp to fit his Glock-34. Any suggestions and thank you in advance????

  11. Brian H, I always like to shoot with the lightest spring possible. When I was shooting the 1911 comp gun with a lighten slide, I used a Wolff 5lb. variable spring. We are shooting 9X19 factory load /115gr. fmj. The feel is very subjective and if you ask me. I find that the felt recoil is lesser with the light spring and is so much easier to rack the slide. On my limited-class topend also in 9X19, I tried with the 6lb but it does not work very well. I encountered feeding problem every now and then. Tried 7lb and is OK. On my open-class topend I used a 6lb and it works fine maybe because of the fact that my slide is lighten.
  12. Would like to know what sort of poundage do you use on your EA/P9 long-slide open-class gun shooting 124gr in 9X21 major. Do you need to change the recoil-spring poundage if you shoot 124 or 130gr? You can use the original Tanfoglio recoil-spring, EGW world-class recoil-spring and the Wolff ones. The Wolff recoil-spring ratings are 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,16,18&20lb. For my EA long-slide 9X19(minor)open-class gun,I am using a Wolff 6lb. recoil-spring and it works very well and I like the feel. I only shoot factory ammo / 115gr fmj.
  13. Looking for an after market match barrel & comp for G.17. What is good and where to contact these people? Also after market scopemount for C-more, what is good.
  14. Friend of mine thinking of going the hi-cap route but due to budget constraint can't afford a STI. He is thinking of getting a complete std. Para gun in 9X19 and have it fitted with a bushing match barrel and compensator to the slide. We are in Malaysia and he would need to get a gunsmith who is set-up for export. As for the rest of the bells & whistle we can do it here in Malaysia. We did think of Caspian but there do not come in complete gun only bits & pieces.
  15. If I do not use Carter spray then what is the next best alternative to clean the comp chamber? The usual way of scraping out the lead from chamber using a tool. Arredondo comp tool will do?
