Neomet
Bruce, Congrats on the overall. Very, very cool. It is kinda weird to see the results list and all my old friends from when we lived in St. Louis. I see Dave and Steve are still finishing neck to neck and that my good buddies Joel and Tom are still having fun. Very cool. If you squad with any of them please tell them Rick Korzep said hi. It has me beating one particular guy in the Limited division results, but then in the combined results, it has this other shooter placed above me. I reckon USPSA has divisions for a reason. Either way, though, you still shot real good. Good luck this weekend. I'll be rootin' for ya and the rest of the Arnold gang.
trevoro
^^^ Whatever...nice job! The combined results are the results that matter to me most when I shoot. An overall win is an overall win, period. Awesome. T

Every stage has a different total point value. On stage three there was 120 points available. I did not win the stage neither did Jeff. but I got 112.4314 points on that stage he got 99.5614 this is were Jeff lost the most points. You will understand someday. Goes by stage points. ME 407.235 Jeff 402.294 Edit to add: Sometimes the order of finish changes from the 'By Division' report and the 'Combined' report. This is beacuse a different Stage High Hit Factor was used to calculate the stage points. So I still won the match overall. Flexmoney
EZWinscore spits out some spurious results when it goes to combine divisions. I just don't put as much weight into EZWinscore's ability to combine divisions. It has me beating one particular guy in the Limited division results, but then in the combined results, it has this other shooter placed above me. The piece of the puzzle that you need is "stage weight". Your method of just adding up the hit factors gives each stage an equal amount of weight. In USPSA, the stages that have more shots, have more weight in the scores. And, when you see shooters that get flip-flopped (within a division) when you look at the "combined"...that is because each stage's points are based off of the best shooter on that stage. (which is a bit of a different issue than above) Everybody's score is relative to (technically, a 'derivative', I believe) the top shooter on that stage. In "combined" scores, you are adding in more shooters to the mix...most likely a different shooter at the top score...which changes the points and the point spread between two shooters (unless one of them remained the 100% shooter for that stage). EZ isn't spitting out questionable numbers. It works exactly like it's programmed to. Anyway... Congrats BK!!!
Chills1994
Again, Bruce and Kyle, we agree to continue to disagree. Bruce, when you're at the IL sectional this weekend be sure to ask Frank about the overall combined results and then specifically ask if they will be recognizing a High Overall winner. My guess is that they won't, because, well, again, those are NOT official results. As far as computer programs go, GIGO...garbage in garbage out. I can write all sorts of code and algorithms too. In the interest of NOT continuing to poop up Bruce's thread here and stealing from Bruce's limelight, you can join me in/on the USPSA forum where I have started my own thread there on this very topic.
