World Shoot Updates - Bali

Recommended Posts

Here's some more of Bali in general--

Scooters are everywhere.. weaving in and out of traffic, going up on the sidewalk, the wrong direction, everywhere they can fit. This one has a family of four, count 'em, four on it.

post-1846-1225274334_thumb.jpg

At the Opening Ceremony they did a version of the Barong Dance-- a traditional dance/play with a 2-person tiger costume as well as the typical Balinese dancers and costumes. By the end half the spectators were locals, which was cool.

The Adults have helmets and the kids don't. hmmmm

I love the ventilated front breaks on that scooter.

Actually, yesterday, the gap on Max was bigger, so Max has made up a small amount of ground... Not likely to make up the rest with how much match is left, but it could happen - there are several big stages left. Max would have to average taking 10+ points a stage to pull it off. Saul and KC are in the same boat with him. Jorge is right in there, but may drop back as squad 1 comes through the stages he's current winning.

Looks like Travis is doing well, Shannon is less than 50 points behind him. Blake is smoking some of the stages, although he is shooting different stages from the super squad he is winning a lot of them...

Word is Blake is probably winning Standard at the moment, with Travis and Smitty not too far back. Tomorrow's the last day, so we'll soon see how it all shakes out. In any case it's been a heck of a good time.

I think I'm at 4 mikes and a no-shoot so far, which I hear is pretty good.. plus a yanked finger from busting my a$$ on the wet hotel stairs the first morning of the match wearing cleats and having my hand around the rail...

20 more pictures (of the match, the dancing girls section is not done yet ;) ) uploading now on the slow hotel internet.. http://www.txipsc.net/shred

That should be interesting. Smitty is nearly dead even with Travis. They need to gain 60 points on Blake.

The stages that Travis and Smitty have left, Blake didn't really tear them up (except the 160pt field course). The stages that Blake has left...Travis nailed them...with 4 out of 6 at 100%.

475 possible points for Blake left.

450 left for Travis and Smitty.

That extra 25 possible points gives Blake a bit of cushion.

Where did Stage 22 go ???

Stage 22 is the chrono. The luck of the Standard IPSC Shooting Order put me first on it :D. Makes up for going first on a 32-rounder earlier I suppose.

A few people were not happy at the chrono, though my ammo made it just a little under what I was expecting. Could be the heat since 7625 is reverse-sensitive.

Also note that the 100% in Open on Stages 2 and 4 is almost certainly wrong. I don't think that changes the standings much.

Yeah, what's the deal there. The guy is in the fast squad but nine shots and a draw in 1sec flat and a 32 round stage in 8sec flat sounds a little too fast. :surprise:

The fact that the times are exactly rounded at zero (1:00 and 8:00 respectively) leads me to suspect that they put down the time of day and not the actual time. With the race in Open Lady so close this could affect the lead between Gabrielle/Athena.

Questions have been asked on the IPSC Global Village.... Hopefully someone is looking into it.
