danny
Went to a match today and found the single stack guys wearing the DOH. When asked if something has changes in the rules, the reply was yes the rules went along with the production rules on the holster, UMMMmmmm DID I MISS SOMETHING? 38superman
I don't believe the DOH is legal under the new rule book. There is an item (#20) in the Appendix for Single Stack Division that states the front strap all the way to the trigger guard must be at or above the top of the belt. I don't believe the DOH meets this criteria. It doesn't carry the gun high enough. It may have been legal under the provisional rules, but no more. HoMiE
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/1911_Single_Sta...2006_Update.pdf - this was before the 08' rule book came out. From 08 Blue Rule Book 20 Holster restrictions •Suitable for everyday use. “Race gun” type holster prohibited. •Must carry pistol so that the entire front strap (to the trigger guard) is at or above the top of the belt.Female shooters must carry the pistol no lower than the heel of the butt at the top of the belt. •May not be manufactured or cut lower than, and must cover the slide up to, ½” below the ejection port (belt slide “Yaqui” type holster exempt). DOH is No-Go.

Rocket35
Gary Stevens posted on here to questions regarding this issue- His answer was that no it would not fit the holster criteria.
D.Hayden
Sorry.. I read the original question wrong.. the DOH as it ships hasn't been legal since January 2007.. But, if you have one, it can be converted easy enough so it is..
Gary Stevens
As a point of clarification, it isn't about any particular brand name holster. The issue is does it carry the gun according to the stated rule. So the question should be does the DOH carry the gun at the correct height? Based on the unmodified one's I have seen, they will not. jhgtyre
Before = LTDAfter = OPEN! Or, if you are at a Single Stack only match, it equals shooting for no score. I discovered this while using a Safariland 560/561 with one of the newer plastic belt plates. -ld
