What Are You Thankful For This Year ?

Recommended Posts

Last year I asked this question and got some great responses. Now here we are again, just a few days before Thanksgiving.

What are we all thankful for this year...?

Here's a link to last years, "Thanksgiving Question" What were you thankful for in 2006 ?

My list for 2007...

I am thankful for my friends, my family and my health. I am thankful that there are people in this country that put their lives on the line for people like me. I am thankful for our freedom, for our rights, for our country. I am thankful to God for providing all the above.

1. The wonderful/beautiful man whom so graciously signed "Organ Donor" on the back of his license which granted my 5 y.o. niece a new kidney. PLEASE, Be an organ donor.

2. The many blessings that God has granted me and my family.

3. My friends.

4. Our Troops and their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect our Freedoms and those of others.

These are things that come to mind immediately. I really have so much to be thankful for that I don't have time to type it all.

I'll let you know after my Second-Interview tomorrow for a job I was First-Interviewed for last Thursday.

Oh, and I've been an organ donor forever. Wouldn't have it any other way. B)

Speaking of medical stuff, I'm thankful I have no chronic ailments and take NO medications whatsoever and pretty much never have. (And, boy, is it cheaper that way!)

Very thankful for my two sons, 7 years and 6 months, so I have something new to be thankful for this year.

Thankful for my wife, who has brought so many good things to my life.

Very thankful that my baby boy's ultrasound was negative for spina bifoda a few months back.

I am very thankful for my healthy son, my wife(even if she gets on me for spending so much time on "gun stuff"), Having a great job where I can shoot every day if I work hard the rest of the day, and great friends!

Oh yeah, and thanks to all here for the great advice.

I am Thankful for:

My two kids, who are wonderful

My parents, who are still a huge part of my life

The health of our whole family, NEVER take that for granted

The work that I have

Being able to enjoy life to it's fullest

And especially, for our troops that give so much and ask so little in return.

I was going to try to post something witty and smarta$$ about losing my job last month but got to thinking. I've ridden escort for 2 funerals in 2 days. Yesterday, for a retired Korean War Vet and today for a young Airman killed in Italy in a blackhawk crash. Today was especially hard as I stood next to the hearse holding our Flag. The family was mostly all Air Force; father- active, 2 sisters- active, and a younger brother enlisting in the Army. Brother and sisters were pall bearers at the church. I looked at the family and the Airman's young wife and 3 month old daughter and I'm glad I had my sunglasses on.

So, what am I thankful for? I'm thankful for the men and women who have chosen to serve our country. I'm thankful for the support the families of the servicemen and women give them so they be away from home and concentrate on the job they have to do. I'm thankful for the privilege the familes give us to ride in Honor and Respect for their fallen loved one.

I'm thankful for my healthy, happy family.

Best wishes, all.
