  1. For the striker, I just hold it and use a felt wheel and some Jewelers rouge. For the firing pin safety, Chuck it in a drill then us a 3M wheel on a Dremel. Dremel about 500rpm, drill moving maybe half that speed. Rounds it nicely and uniformly. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
  2. It's a no-shoot according to how I understand your description and how I read the rules. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to verify it was just me. Nothing more training won't fix. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  4. So I shot a Gen 5 G19 yesterday. Seems like the trigger is a bit lighter than a Gen 4 with the same factory connector. I wanted to compare it to a new Gen 4 so to start out i did the dot torture and the Practical Shooting Academy trigger stripe drills. When doing reloads, I was having issues with the front of the mag getting caught in that new cutout. My reloads aren't what they once we're, but still not a complete train wreck with other platforms. Anyone else experience the same thing? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  5. So, two different gen 4s (17 & 23) with 6# trigger springs and 5# striker springs, no issues so far. I also read somewhere swapping the ejector housing to one from a gen 3 may fix that issue if you have it. Can anyone confirm? Are they different? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  6. http://forums.brianenos.com/index.php?/topic/250603-Mill-RMR.-USPSA-production?? I don't know if this link works, but someone just posted a letter in the Glock section specifically addressing this. Apparently using a filler plate is good to go for production now. 7. Try using a torch lighter, I don't know what they are really called. Don't actually touch the flame to the FO, take your time. Also, make sure it's tight, any movement will drastically reduce the lifespan. I have found yellow to be the brightest, but not much brighter than green. I bought the four color pack from Amazon last time I ran out. I randomly change colors. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  8. Dawson will make you a custom rear. They're a bit more, but not too much. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  9. Hey, thanks for the quick response. I plan on keeping the stock striker spring. Now that I'm thinking about how it all works that makes sense. Is this a gen 4 only issue or all of them? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  10. Hey guys, I've been playing around with different trigger setups. I read somewhere that a gen 4 can have reset issues if you change to a heavier trigger spring. I can't remember where I read it, I've slept since then. I was thinking of trying a dot connector with a 6# trigger spring. Heard it can give you a decent and fairly crisp trigger. Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it. My search fu is weak. Thanks in advance. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  11. I finally got mine, 4.25 9mm. I was looking at the detent thing that prevents the auto forwarding. I may try to take out the slide stop and see how that thing comes apart. If there's a spring under there, I wonder if cutting a coil or two would fix the fix? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  12. The 5" is closer to the G34/35 and a bit longer sight radius isn't a bad thing. Other than that, make sure it's accurate enough and clean up the trigger (apex part or whatever). By the time you're ready for more gun, this one will be worn out anyway. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the above. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  14. I wasn't there, but as per the video it was crappy weather. There have been several instances of things in the trigger guard as people holstered making the gun go off upon movement. Was it repeatable? As in were they able to make the gun go off again without touching the trigger? A lot of accusations, not a lot of facts. I don't mean to say this wasn't the case, but in this group I'm sure I'm not alone. I've heard of a lot of instances of the striker block not moving, but not this. I know enough to know I don't know everything and that strange things happen all the time though. It'd be good to really find out what happened so that these things can be avoided in the future. 15. +1 thanks Randy and welcome to AZ! Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  16. Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  17. For me, it takes some work to switch back and forth from Glocks to everything else. The Gen 4 is slightly better but still takes some time. Some guys can do it with no issues. +1 on the pick one and stick with it. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  18. Call S&W and see what they say. I would maybe forget to tell them about the aftermarket barrel, probably not an issue, but why take the chance. OTOH I'd probably pull it apart and check everything under a loupe or magnifying glass and look for rounded corners or unusual wear. Maybe around the linking block and lockup areas of the slide. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to have something to say when you call. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  19. I'll definitely take 2" @ 25. Good point on the lack of reports of inaccurate pistols. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  20. Yes. Someone somewhere suggested scuba because they were made from a better more heat resistant rubber. I don't know much about those, but the regular ones seem to work fine for me. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  21. The blue locktite didn't work real well on my storm lake threaded barrel. A 1/2" o ring did the trick, like $0.50 at Ace, about 1000 rounds so far and it stays tight. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  22. I've seen this asked within other threads and haven't seen too many responses. What's the consensus on 9mm accuracy issues? Are the 2.0s better/different in that aspect? Have they changed the lug design (pics I've seen on the net make it seem like they haven't)? Your experiences are appreciated. I've got one on the way, I'll let you all know when I get it and compare it with a recently purchased 1.0. The one I like the best will be getting milled for a DP Pro, the other will be relegated for backup with a FF3 in a dovetail mount as punishment (for a while anyway). 24. My limited gun snaps front sights like crazy. It just been sitting in the safe for a while with a broken sight because I'm sick of messing with it. I had a thought the other day though. I have lightening cuts in the slide and I'm thinking it's causing enough flex to gradually break the sight. I'm going to order another and relieve a lot of the bottom of the sight and see if that helps. Being a ZEV slide made me think of it if it's got the cuts. Anyone know if my solution is probable? Or ever heard of this before? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
