One Hit Wonders

Recommended Posts

When John went out on his own that was his ONE song, But the Kingston Trio connection gets you many extra points!! But in the trio he was a writer Not known as a singer. Steveie isnt a one hit wonder either, but that was a one time song and I don't think anyone would have know about my neighbor John ( long ago) If you hadn't brought it up! And while we are at it How about Procol Harum " A Whiter shade of pale"... the whole damn thing...not just the Breakfast club cut version? What a great thread!! KURTM

Conquistador by Procol Harum made it to #16...

Gilbert O'Sullivan had some hits in the UK , but in the US, just the one; 'Alone Again (Naturally)'

Enjoying this thread. So much good music.

And who could ever forget 'I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper' by Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip... It came out around the same time as the original Star Wars...

"I lost my heart to a star-ship trooper,

Flashing light in hyper space Fighting for the Federation

Hand in hand we'll conquer space

You just can't make this stuff up

I don't remember the name of the song, but Strawberry Alarm Clock did it.

Was it, "Good morning, Starshine"?

(...the Earth says, Hello!

You twinkle above us, we twinkle below....")

Incense and Pepermint by Strawberry Alarm Clock in 1967

It takes old minds awhile to kick in.
