Ok, I'll show how old I am. My favorite or at least one of my favorites is the song "In the year 2525" by Zager & Evans written in 1964 but not played on the radio until '67 then made it to number one in 1969.

You do know Spirit in the sky was written & recorded by Norman Greenbaum in '69, quite a few years before Doctor & the Medics did it? It takes a real old time rock & roller to know that trivia.

Thanks for reminding me of all the old one hit wonders.

ROTFLMA, I'm listining to that song on my IPOD right now. It made #1 the week I graduated from USMC boot camp. I was a holy terror on the roads in my sisters Cougar when that came on the radio.

How about J. Frank Wilson and Last Kiss or The Swinging Medallions and Double Shot of My Babies Love

Being that I'm here in West Texas, I found out J. Frank Wilson moved onto bigger & better things than one hit wonders & built up an insurance business in San Angelo Tx. before passing away a few years ago.

One of my friends here in Lubbock was in a rock & roll group in the early 60's & they had a one hit wonder. The name escapes me right now but he thought he was going to be rich! He took his first big check out & bought a corvette & there weren't ever any more checks of any real size. Ever. Kind of sad but at least he had his 15 minutes of fame, I guess.

"They paved paradise" is it a 1HW? I don't even know who sings...

I'm guessing you mean, "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni Mitchell.

She had quite a few hits besides that one.

I think the cover by 'Counting Crows' is the one most heard on the radio these days.

John Stewart had hits with the Kingston Trio. Stevie Nicks is not a one hit woman either.
