j2fast
Lack of politics is why this is pretty much the only forum I frequent anymore. Would hate to see it go the other way....

BritinUSA
If anyone is looking for a good place to post politics and stuff may I suggest this place: FreeRepublic.com ...then we can keep this place for shooting related stuff
eric nielsen
+1 Noticed that most of the people who gripe the loudest & most often on politics, these are the people who want every single person to adopt one set of politics: Theirs.
bountyhunter
On most forums there is a "report this post" button that gets them closed immediately. If that solution isn't attractive, the other option is to just set up one place for political discussion and tell the forum members to enter at your own risk..... anybody who doesn't want to hear it just passes it by. XRe
+1 to what's been said... It's gonna get ugly in here real quick if we don't live this crap (and that's all it is... crap) at the door... Bad enough that we discuss rules...

Astute observation and not far off the mark either. When I go to someone's house for dinner, I check my politics at the door. I expect the other guests to do likewise. It makes for a pleasant evening for everyone. Agreed! I too was also driven to post my feeling on this here after also seeing the "Post That Drove Me To This". I personally think all political topics that get posted on the BE forums should be NUKED the moment they are spotted no matter what guise thay are posted under. Posting in the Hate Forum so it can't be rebutted and then asking for it to get closed before anyone else responds is a lame and ridiculous ploy to get a "free from rebuttal" soapbox on otherwise forbidden discourses. Please take all the political crap somewhere else and lets just get on with the shooting!!!!!!!!!!!!

BritinUSA
Perhaps BE and the Mods (sounds like a 60's pop group) can get together and unilaterally ban all politicial postings on this forum. As I mentioned earlier there are other forums on the internet that specialise in all this political stuff. Lets keep BE free of this, politics is important but this should be a shooting only site. Just my 2 cents
George
As a quick definition of what belongs here and what does not, I "personally" profer the following set of tests to apply to a post first: 1. If it doesn't ultimately have to do with putting holes in targets, quickly and/or accurately, it probably doesn't belong here. 2. If it's controversial and in the daily news, it probably doesn't belong here. 3. If it's got lawyers, or politicians involved, it probably doesn't belong here. 4. If it's got the words, judge, jury, law, legislation, or government in it, it probably doesn't belong here. I am sure this list is not complete, but I am also sure that it is a good start ;-) Regards,

George
turtle targets Ah, the Turtle! Now there's a nice little controversial subject to sink our teeth into ;-) Actually, I think the Turtle makes a great paper target for rifles as the main A zone is a lot tighter than the standard IPSC target. I don't miss the upper A/B at all.

No offense meant for Lawyers and Politcians who are members of this forum, Ya'll are special. Disclaimer: The above is meant in humor and in no way is to be interperated that the person posting this would ever intend to use a Lawyer or Politcian as a target. George
Aww darn, I was gonna' take one of my favorite lacal "practicioners of confuscatory legalese" to the range next week for a little practice session ;-) Oh well, I guess it's only steel and paper from now on ;-/ BTW, Kelly (Mr. Prosecutor) doesn't count when we discuss the aforementioned profession as he not only shoots back real, real good, but he's also on the right side-o-the-bar anyway ;-)
