Recipes for 100gr Berry’s using Titegroup?

Recommended Posts

I got the following with Titegroup, 100gn Berry hollow base, sig cases, CCI primers, OAL 1.145

4.4gn avg vel 1252/ spread 59/ SD 21 / pf 125

4.5gn     1288/ 36/ 15/ 128

4.6gn      1328/ 17/  7/ 132

Vihtavuori N320 works better for me 4.8gn for 100s (PF 128) and 4.5 for 115s (PF 131)

These are in a JP-5

Are you sure OAL is that long on these little bullets? Seems quite long. Even with 124s jm

1.10. I think there’s said 1.05 for these 100gr

bullets so I assume they are very short bullets.

did you notice any improvement using these vs normal weight bullets?

The OAL is correct. I haven't shot the 100's in a match yet. I got an order of Super Vel 100s the other day and am going to compare them to Titegroup and N320 100s.

I emailed Berry's about the max velocity on the 100gr plated bullets.  They indicated they are in the process of updating the max velocity of this bullet from 1250 fps to 1300 fps.

The email thread stemmed from questions I had about the ammo that Super Vel created using that bullets traveling at 1300 fps dedicated for a PCC load, when their website indicated that the max velocity was 1250  fps.  They also indicated that Max misspoke in the Super Vel video introducing that "Blitz" PCC ammo that the 100 gr bullets used for the Super Vel ammo was thick plated bullets at 100 gr which it is not.

If they truly update the velocity I do not know.  They have not done so to my knowledge.

I just measured the ones I have.  A typical 9mm case (resized) for me is .7535 and the Berry's 100gr head is .4740  Both of those added together is 1.2275 and If he says the OAL is 1.145, that leaves 0.0825 to seat the bullet.

I looked for my load data from years ago when I was tinkering with the 100gr round, but I couldn't find it

My XL650 with Redding Competition seating die is set at 1.120 for 124gr RN bullets.  When I seated the 100gr with the case, it was 1.07.

I'm curious to see what load data is available for Titegroup.  I might have to load some up again and see what they do in my PCC.

Looking forward to your comparison, was also looking to get some super vel after watching max video

I know you specified Titegroup; however, I recreated the supervel load with 5.7 grains of ramshot silhouette under the 100 grain berry at 1.120 oal - they average 130pf and provides enough gas to work the comp.
