Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I know you specified Titegroup; however, I recreated the supervel load with 5.7 grains of ramshot silhouette under the 100 grain berry at 1.120 oal - they average 130pf and provides enough gas to work the comp.
  2. I too answered with 1 procedure for not following the WSB. After reading the response, I get the explanation for no penalty based on the fact that there were no extra shots nor extra hits because the competitor didn't fire an extra shot per VC rules - by that logic, you can't give an extra shot penalty BEFORE the reload since you can't give an extra shot penalty if there is no extra shot taken. So since you can't give a penalty for extra shot before the reload and you can't give a penalty for failure to reload, you can't give the shooter a failure to follow WSB either (we've already established target order doesn't matter and stacking apparently only deals with saving transitions now) - which is absolutely NUTS and needs to addressed and turned into common sense. My head hurts.
  3. It's that "correct level" part that gets me - I would assume that simply means making sure they understand how to safely do something but not after "make read"? I suppose as long as the line is toed closer to the safety side of things, we aren't fostering a hostile competition environment.
  4. What class did you take where it was stated that we are to "assist the shooter" in safely completing the course?
  5. I died laughing but you're not wrong...
  6. I said (and gave an explanation) of this in my post just before yours. However, I don't believe the OP ever uttered a word to him other than to DQ him because the shooter basically started himself from what I gathered.
  7. I'll play - This is my newest build that is use in USPSA competition. It weights about 4.75 pounds and shoots dead flat with 125g BMB RN under 3 grains of A#2 at 1.10 OAL. Areo EPC9 (threaded) receiver set Taccom 9mm standard bolt MBX Adjustable Air Buffer system MBX 10.5 p&w barrel Smokes 10" CF rail Hiperfire Hipertouch Trigger Radian Raptor CH K2 XL Grip Sight was a Bushnell something or other model - it is now a Sig Romeo1 6 moa Techwell Magwell that fits wonderfully LRBHO removed because it's useless for competition
  8. I know this is a dang dead horse but you did the right thing both in DQing the shooter and going back to freshen up on the rules. As you stated, he should have never made it to the line (he was clearly not yet under your supervision). You ABSOLUTELY MUST handle you firearm in a safe manner at ALL times. That being said, "under the supervision of a range officer" is not defined by "make ready" - any time an RO is asked to perform RO duties for a firearm related action (or any other action that requires an RO be present) and said RO agrees to do so, you are now under the direct supervision of the RO until said action is completed (i.e., gun is returned to its proper safe condition, etc). The reason this term isn't defined is because RO supervision/instruction isn't just related to a course of fire.
  9. I finally saw where it was listed - made my decision easy, I went with a hiperfire trigger for this build.
  10. I have no read that the Timney trigger has issues with the EPC-9. Where did you read this?
  11. Have you checked the same and the cam springs to make sure all of that is installed correctly? Also, check the hammer spring and compare it to the old hammer spring to make sure it's pre-compressed enough. Just my two cents...
