kooyahdesigns
Started out as a joke for my ruger mark3 22/45 lite. That big window on the 510c feels good. Wondered if anyone tried this or know anyone selling a lower mount?
NorthwestGuy
Search for a RD dovetail mounting plate that replaces the rear iron sight. Loosing the rail will reduce the height a lot. I had one made for my Smith & Wesson Model 41 22LR. Edited January 2, 2022 by NorthwestGuy picture added

old558
I tried this on my Volquartsen. It actually worked pretty good, but decided I wanted a larger dot.

Chillywig
This place has some cool mounts. Not sure if any that are listed here would work with holosun. Maybe they will make a base for you if they don't have something that would work already... https://maddmacsprecisiontactical.com/parts-for-rugerreg-mkiii--mkiv-2245trade--2245-litereg.html

NorthwestGuy
If that one piece plate works, it would me a much better choice than a rear sight replacement plate. I would change your RD, if the pattern does not work, or have a gunsmith/machinist drill and tap the plate for Holosun RD.

Wouldn't that be a problem for mounts like the Maddmacs and the Tandemkross: When you have screwed the Holosun to the mount, I wonder if you're still able to screw the mount to the gun since the sight is so big. I might just have to get someone to make me a custom mount for it. I will report back my progress.
Bostenelli
510c are great. I love the green dot. Crazy seeing these on pistols tho.
SteelCityShooter
As noted, the 510's mounting screws enter from the bottom so the sight has to be bolted to the base before the base is fastened to the gun. Therefore, the receiver or slide mounting holes in the base (and the holes in the gun) have to be far enough apart to completely clear the sight. Taccom makes a suitable base for the Ruger 10/22 but most pistol mount holes aren't far enough apart to allow this.

papamcb
I am also interested in this type of mount I currently use the TK shadow mount on a victory for other dots but I am intrigued by the 510c.
bulldog009
Taccom just released a 510c mount for the S&W Victory - might be worth reaching out to see if they have plans for something similar for the Ruger, which I would think is a more popular option on the market.Taccom 510c Mount
