  1. Order an 8 pound Wolff gun spring directly from https://www.gunsprings.com/
  2. You can send a live round via FEDEX or UPS if you had deliver it to their location and tell them. You will need the symbol on the outside of the box, and it must go surface transportation.
  3. What Bul advertises is probably correct. New mags take some time to relax the spring to get the last round in. See if pressing harder gets the last round in and let the mag set overnight with 18 rounds, or run it full a few times. Your other option may be MBX magazines. I use them for my SAS ll OPEN, 9mm and they work as advertised.
  4. Agree with BritinUSA. Consider a 1 degree shim, if the Cmore mounting base will accommodate one.
  5. I solved the "thumb hit" issue by heating it up with a small torch and bending it to where I wanted.
  6. I was at the range last week and the guy next to me noticed my Bul Armory SAS ll Open. He had an Atlas pistol and asked if we could try each others guns. That was the first time that I had fired an Atlas. The gun felt smooth and solid. It was very nice, but I would not be willing to pay the price of admission for the slight difference that I felt. He was pleased with the performance and feel of my Bul Armory, and VERY surprised with it's much lower cost; about half! If money is no object, there are full custom pistols that I would choose before the Atlas offerings.
  7. I agree with Duck_Duckalo. I got my Bul Armory SAS ll UR for the same reasons and have the enjoyment of using it to target shoot at my local indoor range. I run Fiocchi 115 grain 1200 fps ammo. With a 7 pound recoil spring I get perfect mechanical performance.
  8. Great to find craftsmen who can make it happen. Thanks for the information.
  9. Yes, I have seen posts about major hot loads punishing the frame. Thanks for the warning. ... I shoot 115 grain 1200 fps FMJ at the range. Recoil spring is down to 7 pounds. No competition loads for my pistol, just the enjoyment of shooting such a sweet looking and running pistol. You don't have to compete to enjoy an open pistol.
  10. Overkill66, I felt the same way. I bought a Bul Armory SAS ll UR. AMAZING pistol. Glad that I made the change. There is no comparison.
  11. Yes, I loved the large glass on the C-More, but sideways always felt and looked weird, plus adjustments were not simple. It did the job of lowering the window.
  12. If you want to keep the C-More, see if the Toni System mounts will align with your frame mounting holes.
  13. I agree. They are very well made, with excellent fit and finish.
  14. Have you tried changing the recoil spring? I am a novice, but I believe that if the barrel is rising you increase the recoil spring value. The more knowledgeable shooters will chime in, but this is an inexpensive place to start experimenting.
  15. In a free market, the more you spend, the better the product. Having said that, you should spend as much as you can afford. There will always be something else that cost more! The price of the pistol, optic, spare mags, open ammo (Everglades, if you don't want to do-it-yourself), or others), belt, holster and range bag to name a few, will not be cheap. The pistol cost, if lower than your $5K budget will help. Also traveling to matches can be very costly, so many shooters have a backup pistol if something goes wrong and you can't compete. I am toying with competing in open, 9mm myself, but just practicing now. I entered the maze with a CZ Czeckmate. The CZ gave me a taste of 2011 pistols. I was seduced by the looks and features of the Bul Armory SAS ll UR that you linked to. It did not disappoint. The Bul is the only 2011 that I shoot. The fit and finish and quality of parts is impressive on my Bul. The issue is that without dealers, you can't try before you buy. I suggest seeing if anyone at the ranges that you shoot at owns a Bul product. It will give you a sense of the company. For what it is worth, I am very pleased with my choice to go with a Bul Armory open pistol.
  16. You can purchase 1 degree plastic shims. They are cut for your optic. ADE makes some. Check out the store on Amazon . https://www.amazon.com/stores/ADE+Advanced+Optics/page/C608EEFA-CD60-4108-A035-B26AEB6291E2?ref_=ast_bln
  17. You can order the MBX mags without lockup.
  18. I tried to carry several pistols, standing up in a Pelican case. The issue is when I went to optics, the pistols were too tall to allow the lid to close. I now make my own foam inserts for my cases. Case specific, as well as "cut to size" foam and the "must have" thin marker are available from https://kaizeninserts.com I made a two shelf range case (first and second pic), as well as individual cases for each pistol. My Bul Armory open pistol case with 100 rounds of ammo, desiccant, loader, holster, cooling air blower and extra mags is pictured. With a piece of scrap plywood, some 1x2 lumber and a foam cutting heater wire from Amazon, I made a hot wire jig fixture to cut the foam after I trace the outline onto the foam. It is custom and I can fit everything that I need as a range case. It's fun and you get exactly what you want!
  19. I appreciate the information on all of your videos. Thank you. Great job.
  20. My 2022 SAS ll UR OPEN came with the polymer grips. I read somewhere that the poly grips were preferred due to some shock absorption vs. the metal grips. The brass magwell does feel like it has a better balance. IMHO.
  21. Wonderful endorsement. It's refreshing to see this kind of consideration.
