Silhouette powder from ramshot

Not sure where to put this question but has anyone used this powder for action pistol shooting? I shoot 9,40and 45 I can buy a decent amount of it if it works.

i know guys who used it in 9 and 40 primarily because they got out of open and wanted to burn it up

Silhouette was my preferred powder of choice for 40 minor and 40 major loads with lubed or coated lead bullets.   When it became unobtainium in 2014, I switched to W231, but still have the load data, if you're interested.

I think Silhouette is way too slow for all calibers mentioned, because of the increased recoil and muzzle rise.  I use Alliant e3 for 45 bullseye loads, minor and major 40sw loads and some 9mm minor loads.  I also use Alliant Sport Pistol for 9mm minor.  I used Silhouette for a long time when I shot 40 Open.

If thats what you got, go for it,, but no way I would buy it for your applications.

I agree with ZZT,  go with a faster powder.

I like it in 9 major

I've only used it in 357sig, 40s&w and 10mm, but don't do any competitions.
