lfine
Want to make sure I feed my new .40 Limited a good diet of what the builder recommends: 170pf, 1.180-1.200" OAL. Was looking at Fenix and using their Training and Competition ammo exactly for those purposes. ORM was also recommended by the builder even though the numbers are a little lower. My inclination is to just order some of both Fenix types to try, unless anyone here has any other thoughts about it. Is the training ammo good? Is there a brand I'm missing here? Feel free to weigh in.
Silent
Just to clarify, are you only looking for factory ammunition to feed your new blaster? Not info on what to reload for it?
lfine
Thanks for asking. Yes, for the time being until I'm setup, just factory ammo. Thanks.
Joe4d
I have always had decent luck with precision delta, although mainly in bulk 9mm. I did use their 180 gr 40 bullets for years, Still have some in fact. They run fine in 2011's 1911, and a Para I have at 1.180 They also seem to have a sale right now and be $100 a case cheaper than Fenix.https://www.precisiondelta.com/products/40-s-w-180gr-fmj-long-remanufactured-ammunition/
lfine
Looks like a good price and, yes, $100 cheaper. Pretty significant. In the meantime I have some Fenix coming to also try. If there are any other recommendations please don't hesitate. Guess its time to start getting setup with loading my own...

You can't go wrong with the Precision Delta. It is designed specifically for USPSA Limited guns, uses a true in house manufactured FMJ, and is a USPSA certified ammo. Plus the MatchPacks are awesome. https://www.precisiondelta.com/products/ammunition/performance-standard/40s-w-180gr-fmj-long-remanufactured-match-pack/ Edited February 17, 2020 by Ssanders224
Leftylivesmatter
Precision Deltas run 100%. Don’t even have a case check. All I use for matches!
MVPFc
Precision Delta match packs are the way to go. You can’t beat the price or quality.
EaZeNuTZ33
My recommendation would be to get a box from each, shoot each for feel, groups, and chrono data....then pick one. I'd start with Precision Delta ".40 long" .... price is solid and you can trust that even if you miss chrono by a hair, it's a trusted ammo supplier for USPSA and you won't get dropped to minor. Silent
Everyone I shot Nationals with liked the Federal Syntech in .40. Specifically made for USPSA. Although if memory serves, it’s not loaded long.
lfine
You're correct. It's not long. But my TSO loves it.
geraldskip
Impact Ammo makes really great rounds. I bought a thousand and so far it has been great. They use VV powder and it’s super clean and super soft. I recommend them highly.
