I’m sure very few, if any, care about backup irons for LO. My Prodigy only has backup irons because it came with them otherwise it wouldn’t. And my LO gun being built won’t have them at all

.355 and .356 both work fine. For local matches I shoot the cheapest I can find. The PD 124 gr JHP are pretty cheap. For major matches I shoot the Hornady HAP 125s. Save money for the locals and shoot the good stuff when it really counts

The optics is great, when it works. Everyone I know who has an Sig optic has had to use the warranty. Mine broke at a very in-opportune time so I got a replacement and sold the brand new one. Running an SRO now.

Has anyone had an issue getting the grip screws out on a Prodigy? Mine will not come loose and I’m afraid to strip them. On 2011s with steel grips it’s easy to heat things with a torch to break the locktite but the plastic grip on the Prodigy makes that tougher…and I’m not sure if they come red locktited or what.

Was there a noticeable difference? I hadn’t even thought it would be a big deal

Local shooter put 120k through a 9mm CK open gun, mix of major and minor ammo. Slide cracked in 3 places but gun still work after being spot welded. He now has over 90k on an SVI in .38 SC. No broken parts. Rifling is very worn down but still accurate enough for the game.

Some dots breaking is the rule instead of the exception it seems. I was running the Sig Romeo 3XL until it broke (battery connection and buttons). Asked around and everyone else running Sig dots had theirs break as well. Used Sigs great warranty service to get a replacement and promptly sold the replacement. SRO on the gun now. A broken Trijicon is a rare occurrence and I have noticed no difference in my ability to shoot the gun by switching to it.

My first open gun which was 9mm major, I used once fired brass because it was free (also all the same headstamp). Never reloaded it again just left it for someone else. My new gun is .38 SC so I bought a bunch of brand new Starline for it. I’m picking that up and reloading it multiple times. Both ways have worked just fine.

I’m sure that’s some of the issue, I will let some people know. There’s also been other reliability problems that don’t seem mag spring related. And red dots that won’t stay tight even with red loctite, which is a head scratcher.

I know many people who carry a Staccato on duty, including SOG guys. And others who have trained with the LA PD/SO guys. Keep in mind many of them do not buy the gun themselves, it is department issued and they don’t even have a say in it. Also, the reviews are very mixed. One coworker of mine switched away from them and had to personally purchase a new Glock to make the change. The point I’m trying to make is that Staccatos on duty have been far from all sunshine and roses in my experience…

I’m going to guess it’s a matter of personal preference for the shooter. Whatever they like the feel of the best. With this is mind, if you have a stroked gun, you can mess with shock buff to shorten the slide travel and basically have both options. If your gun isn’t stroked, no way to make it longer so you’re stuck with that. Just thinking out loud.

You’re not the first person I’ve heard of using shock buffs to do this. And cutting recoil springs to match

Just sold my Chaos 1.0 in 9 Major with 3 mags for $5k. Had 8k rounds on it. Just for reference. And it has a lot of interest from others not just the final purchaser.

Having seen the results on multiple people, I would trust Gold Dots. Not that others aren’t as good, but man seeing is believing sometimes.

So 1 gun had an issue at 2k rounds or what is your info? Local guy here is nearing 10k with no issues on an open gun. I’m only a few hundred on my single stack.
