Stock 3 for competition

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm looking at getting a stock 3 in 9mm, I was wondering what different competitions it is legal for like USPSA, IDPA, IPSC and 3-gun.

I'm just getting into shooting sports and want a nice super heavy gun in the stock 3

Thanks for the help everyone!

Legal for Uspsa, ipsc and 3 gun but wont make weight in  IDPA. Get the Limited pro if you are planning to shoot IDPA with it.

This.

legal unmodified in USPSA for Production. Illegally overweight in all IDPA divisions, even ESP.

If you mill enough weight out of it you could get it into USPSA Carry Optics, but her weight is an issue.

3-gun, also good to go.

The LimPro is legal in IDPA but man is it ugly compared to the Stock 2/3....

Eyes of the beholder. I think the stock 3 sort of looks like butt, however I like all 3 choices.

I ended up purchasing a stock 3 in 9mm. What should I do to get it production ready as cheaply as possible?

If you want cheap, this is what I did for my 2nd Stock III. It is my practice/backup gun mostly.

-Xtreme Firing Pin

-Xtreme Firing Pin Spring (Medium)

-Xtreme Firing Pin Block

-Xtreme Hammer Spring (Medium)

-Dawson fiber front sight

-Extra power extractor spring

-Patriot Defense barrel reaming service (if you load longer OAL and current ammo won't plunk test)

Cheapest is to swap parts from Patriot Defense:
Trigger return spring
Sear spring
15lb hammer spring
Light firing spring
And polish the trigger bow
11lb recoil spring
Done

Next steps would be adding
Patriot’s BOLO disconnector
Xtreme Sear
Xtreme Titan hammer
Patriot’s striker
