EricW
I'd ship ammo down there via Fed Ex, but it probably wouldn't make it either... If somebody reading this thread actually KNOWS somebody of prominence in Ecuador that can get the ball rolling, it would be great to know who that is. So, for anyone that's in Ecuador that needs/has ammo and can help their fellow shooters, this is the thread for you. ============================ Patrick Sweeney needs about 450 rounds of 45ACP 230 gr. ball. He's on the 'net down there, so if you post here, he'll probably read it. =============================== Myro Lopez say that the ammo from Armscor has arrived. I'm assuming this is the Philippine shipment and not the US competitors' shipment from Miami, which apparently is still in.....Miami. ================================
BigDave
Who is the point person for the US shipment that is in Miami?
EricW
Who is the point person for the US shipment that is in Miami? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ivan (blackdragon). But I don't think he's to blame other than for not knowing who to bribe. It's always the same in Latin America. Shipments get held up and held up and held up unless everybody's getting his cut or gettting screamed at.
Randy Lee
Patrick, I haven't heard from Lisa Farrell as of yet as to how she fared with bringing in her ammo. She may have some Federal primed 230 gr. fmj's she can spare(I hope). Sorry to hear about all the ammo woes. Randy
dirtypool40
It is a hassle. I spent Thursday evening loading 1600 rounds for some Bolivians going. NEVER AGAIN!!!
outerlimits
too bad mike dillon didn't have some connections down there...he could fly a sh&$load of 650's and components in there...just think of the publicity he'd get.
kimel
Anyone contact Mike Dillon anyway? If I recall correctly he is a retired (?) airline and at least one of his kids currently flies the big iron. Between his contacts etc. Mike just might be able to help out or know someone who can. Alberto Hart
Reloading components are forbiden in Ecuador. I know several guys that own 1050´s and 650´s, but they have nothing to feed them.
EricW
Guys, if the ammo isn't either there or enroute, it just ain't gonna happen. Not Mike Dillon or even GWB can pull this one out of the fire.
shred
The Armscor Philippines ammo shipment arrived early this morning under heavy guard and escorts. Ivan's got ammo if you need it. The US competitor ammo?? "Maybe tomorrow".

bpowe
Ivan tells me that the US ammo will be shipped back to Las Vegas and then returned to the individuals home address. He is giving shooters ammo from the Philipino shipment and everyones $50 will be returned... I don´t know what else he can do, the Miami shippers refused to accept the Ecuador paper work as valid and would not put the ammo on a plane. Many cellphone minutes were burned trying to sort it out without avail. bill
carinab
Let's have the shipping company name so the shooting community can make them go bankrupt. Maybe putting a dent in their bank account will teach them a lesson.

"Maybe tomorrow". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow, if I didn't know any better I'd think this shoot was taking place in Massachusettes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think you'll ever have to worry about that. The concept of requiring each foreign competitor to take a gun safety course offered by a Massachusetts licensed instructor, pay $100 for a one year non-resident license, and wait several months to see if the state gets around to sending the permit in time would probably make this state a somewhat less attractive than average venue ... and that's before we even get around to thinking about the MA hi-cap/aw ban, prohibition on buying ammo with a non-resident license, and blanket refusal of manufacturers to ship ammo to non-FFL's in MA due to legal threats by the attorney general.
