jcc7x7
14lbs seems to be what most are saying on the sight form. There's a 46 page thread about all the ins and outs of the x5
casarez
The SIG forum above has threads on this including my current one. I am using an 11lb one now and tried a 13lb as well.

George16
I’m currently using a 10# Wilson Combat recoil spring on my X5. Shoots flat and no muzzle flip.

Well that's not much help haha. I don't reload yet, stuck with factory brass.

Wisemenofgotham
I shoot 124g or 147g Speer Lawman or Blazer Brass, using a 14lb ISMI 1911 Government recoil spring, as suggested by members of the forum. I'm happy with it.

Rich406
I have been using a 14. I tried a 12 and the gun wouldn't cycle reliably. I use 147 grain bullets loaded to 133 PF.
biggulp
I tried 11-14 lb ISMI springs with 124 grain MagTech and 147 grain Speer Lawman. After testing 300 rounds of the MagTech and 100 rounds of the Speer, I found that the factory recoil assembly actually got me back on target fastest. It should be noted that my testing was with open sights. Using a red dot and depending on your particular ammo, you may find that a lighter spring works better for you. achalmersman
I'm using a 10 lbs spring with my 128-129 PF 147g ammo. I tried a 10, 12, and 14 and settled on the 10 but I didn't do much scientific studying. No optic on my gun.
