Which fiber optic sights are best for limited?

I've only used this set up a couple of times, but so far so good.

However, If you say to go back, back I'll go.

I got creamed on a long range slug stage up in Tennessee. Small stuff at a 100 yards. I wasn't getting my head and cheek positioning on the stock in the same place when in a hurry. Subsequently, I'm hitting all over the place. I know there is nothing faster than a straight ventilated rib with a small fiber out front, but I felt I needed something in the back, for those occassions when some stage designer gets crazy. Is this were you tell me something about the tail wagging the dog?

If you have something that you think will work on my Browning, let me know.

By the way, nice looking website. Who's Browning is that? NICE.

If you are referring to the pump, it is one I just built as an R+D He-Man blaster. But it sure does work nice. Hey as far as sights, whatever works for the shooter. As far as a back sight, either a Marble fold down adjustable leaf dovetailed into the vent rib, or (like I put on the BPS pump) a Williams WGRS 37 mounted on the rear of the receiver with the ghost ring insert. It's very cool! Oh and BTW-since I have officially entered the Senior class, that would be "Mr. Harp"!!! LOL

Watch it!!! :D Glad you liked it Mark. Its always good when compitition changes the way you think about your set-up.

Sounds like the ticket for long range slugs.

Does anyone know of a good smith that does this mod. One that can cutdown the barrel and rethread for choke tubes would be a plus. Thanks in advance.

300lbGorilla said,

This is what you want for a front sight: https://www.hivizsights.com/cart/shopexd.asp?id=36

Have a 'smith install a fold-down rifle sight like this one: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Store/Pro...2c+REAR%2c+OPEN

Does anyone have a pic of this installation? Where exactly is the rear sight dovetailed to the rib. Should/can it be mounted so the blade isn't seen while folded down?

Thanks,

Bill

The 10/22 rear is an awesome idea. My sg will be sporting one of those in the near future. 40-50 yards is easy with just the bead. 100 starts getting dicey. You really have no choice but to melt the 10/22 sight into the rib. Otherwise it will force you to pull your head off the comb of the stock.

I'd really like to see a pic of how far the sight is melted in as well.

Either PM me and I will email pictures of mine or let me know how to post them

I just put a set of truglo pro turkey sights on my vent rib. I love the sight picture they give but the way they attach sucks. They only hold by the side with no lip to hold them on the rib. With recoil they work their way off. Not too happy with them.

I do like they way they sit up a little higher off the rib.

Anybody have a better choice.

Here's what I use on my blaster...

Front: https://www.hivizsights.com/cart/shopexd.asp?id=36

Rear: https://www.hivizsights.com/cart/shopexd.asp?id=38

I use a red lite pipe for the front in contrast to the green rear. Works out really well for me.

Chuck, I like the set you have. Who makes it? Thanks.
