chp5
I just bought an Open gun and I wondering what recoil springs people use. I currently have a 9# Wolf variable in mine, no buffs. It's a 9x19 shorty with a Commander slide.
blackdragon
I use a 10# variable spring never a shock buff! for my major loads. 6-8# for steel loads depending on PF. Ivan

LPatterson
I am forced to use an 11# IMSI in my Glock .45 because I haven't found any one that makes a lighter flat wound spring for a large frame Glock.
MasterLefty
10# conventional - Wolffe. Delrin Guide Rod, one buff. The slide was lightened until totally reliable. My setup is 9x23 with 121gr., std length slide with 3 angle top cut and rear site plow cut, and STI S2 Trubore barrel. Runs fast and positive for me. Newguy
8 lb Wolff with Sprinco. Works more reliably with 8 lb compared to 9 lb or higher.
Kingman
not having bind, not opening all the way with the buff in place. New gun true commander slide alot of coils cut on an
stingerjg
Im pretty sure that mine is a 10# w/ a shock buff in my full length 38SC. When i load for steel this year ill drop in a lighter spring. If it dont run with minor loads and a lighter spring, ill just keep shooting major. ErikW
I don't know what the STI factory gun uses, but I have the STI TruBor barrel/comp and a non-lightened slide (well, just flat-topped) and it runs with a 9# spring.
