RussellM
I am thinking of purchasing a new Glock 34 Gen 4 but I do not see it on the USPSA approved production gun list, although the 35 gen 4 is there. Is it legal and they just havent updated the list yet? I know the local match people wont care but I dont want to go to a larger match and run into a problem. Dan Hefta
I didn't think it mattered what generation it is? As long as it's on the list.
BigTinVA
I believe it does matter. We went through the same thing when the G17 RTF2 frames came out.
RussellM
I think they care because they specifically list the 35 and 35 gen 4 although I am not sure.
Chuck Anderson
Not legal yet. I know Glock did a soft release on them sometime ago, but then they dried up. Not sure if they've hit 2K yet. If they have they haven't submitted the paperwork.
GlockDoc
Interesting. I suppose it's a good thing that the Gen4 wasnt available when I bought my 34 a few months ago. I'm surprised, though, that manufacturers don't have a way around this issue--you know, some "minor update" clause. shooting for M
Great, now that they are legal, they are no longer listed on the Glock website. I saw some on gunbroker though. Anybody got the scoop?
Joseph796
Since the Glock 34 Gen 4 is approved, would it be USPSA legal to use a Gen 4 frame with an Gen 3 Glock 34 upper?
vluc
Since the Glock 34 Gen 4 is approved, would it be USPSA legal to use a Gen 4 frame with an Gen 3 Glock 34 upper? Are they even compatible?
rvb
Why did the Gen 4's have to be specifically approved? I don't see other gen's discussed. So now, for example, it says "17 9mm (25 oz.), 17 Gen4 9mm (25 oz.)". Why weren't the gen 4s legal until they were added to the list? Was there a similar issue when the gen 3s were added? -rvb
MrVvrroomm
Are they even compatible? Yes, they are compatible. A Gen3 slide will go on a Gen4 frame, but not vice-versa.

schmoli
Yes, they are compatible. A Gen3 slide will go on a Gen4 frame, but not vice-versa. Whoa ok this changes everything so I need to verify. I currently shoot a Gen 3 35 in limited and production, and just had a thought.. I considered purchasing a new G4 35 to replace mine, but it sounds like you are saying I can take my 35 upper and put it on my Gen4 Glock22 lower? is this correct? That would 'technically' put me into Open because the serial numbers wouldn't' match right (not that any local matches would really care).
