boz1911
Lots of results available by searching. Pertaining specifically to Vegas, be prepared for the dust. I used the cheap shower caps last year and they worked fine. I firmly believe treating the Nationals like any other match is the way to go. Drink plenty of fluids even though you won't actually be sweating. Bring any spare parts or gun if you can. Most of all relax and have fun. CocoBolo
Bring a folding chair, no seating on any stage. They had some shade (a pop up on all the stages). I parked by the stage I would finish at each day, but they did have a shuttle van running, its a big place. +1 on the gun cover, just in case the sand blows. Keep your mags clean, and don't forget the outside of it, shoving sand in the gun doesn't help. Last year was my first, I shot very well on the last day, because it just didn't matter after trying too hard the first two. My strategy this year, see what I need to see take the shot, no rushing, no thoughts of results, no comparing myself to others, just let it happen. Hang out, this is a competitive sporting event. No driniking, and absouletly no sex. Early to bed, after you clean your equipment and dry fire. Congrats and have fun.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: Last year was my first year. My plan was to take it slow and it messed me up. I slowed my pace down and it screwed up my timing. After I messed up the first day I said I would just shoot it the way I normally shoot. The following days I shot alot better and enjoyed it more. You will need a gun cover and drink lots of water. I take something to snack on plus a banana or some other fruit. It is a long half day in the dry heat. I would also take a look at the super squads if you have already shot for the day to see how good they are. Don't try to shoot like them though. Hope to see you there, I will be wearing some bright colored shorts Thanks, Eric
XD Niner
Eric's shorts will be worth the price of admission alone. The shower cap is a must. The sand is very fine and gets into everything including your range bag and everything in it. Bring some cleaning supplies. I stripped my gun every night, wiped it down well and lubed it. I didn't have a single gun related problem. Case gauge all your ammo before shipping it. A bad round can ruin your day. The sun, heat and wind can sap your energy very quickly. Bring and drink plenty of cold Gatorade (or equal) and water. It is very difficult to drink enough out there. Pace yourself when not shooting. Use a chair in the shade as often as you can. You're going to have a blast!

BlackBuzzard
Wind................it can really blow. How hard can it blow? Well it blew hard enough last yr to keep a popper from dropping when I hit it one inch low of circle area with minor ammo. Dust in dry eyes can be an issue for some. davidwiz
Check all of your ammo in your gun's barrel, and then check it again. There will be lots-o-vendors there, so bring some spending money, as there are usually some deals to be had. If you have a Camelbak or other type of water carrier, bring it. The last thing you want to get is dehydrated. Where are you staying? The match hotel is The Orleans.
Stuck in C
The match is in October this year; anybody know what the weather is like in Vegas then? Summer is hot, dry, and windy, but how about mid-October?

davidwiz
I was in Vegas last October (Halloween week). They had a cold spell and the temp was in the high 50s/low 60s during the day. The day we left, it went back up to the low 80s. My point being, you might want to bring a pair of pants and a light jacket with you, just in case. Cold Absolute Zero
I'm a vegas local and I shoot at DSRPC all the time My fiancee and I usually eat at Pei Wei for lunch when we go shooting. It's a chinese restaurant that is affiliated w/ PF changs, its a cheaper more take out oriented version of the restaurant (there is also a PF changs on charleston a couple of miles W). Its right down the road from the range. If you leave the range, take a right and head w/ on charleston its in the shopping center on the left right after you cross over the 215. If you're into buffets, the M casino in henderson is a hike but is definitely worth it. It is our favorite buffet in vegas. They have all you can eat crab legs on the weekends. On the strip, the paris buffet is also a good one (they've got a huge cheese selection). The rio also has a great sea food buffet though I've not personally been yet. If you are looking for nice restaurants on the strip I would choose any of wolfgang puck's places, they are all terrific. For japanese hibachi off the strip I like osaka its on lake mead a mile or 2 West of the 95. For night life I'm a big fan of the voo doo lounge on top of the rio and of wasted space which is in the hard rock. Studio 54 inside the MGM is also alot of fun. Also if you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere the piano bar in the Paris is great. I'll also be shooting at the L/P/R nationals this year. See ya there.
