boz1911
I have a Bedell 9 major that runs like a scalded ape. Either gunsmith though will create a great gun for you.
RH45
I have a Bedell "Shorty" in .38 Supercomp, that Dan built for me in 2004, and I like it. I have shot several Brazos guns, and had one of his limited guns, but, sold it because I went to a 6" platform. If the money, and wait time is no object, I'd go with the Brazos. PistolPete
I've had 4 of Bobs guns and recommend them to everyone. Either way you can't go wrong. Both Smiths are great. Many shooters in New England use Bedells guns but I think that is because Bedell is much more local and his prices on open guns are bit less expensive. I've never owned a Bedell gun but have shot several of them and wouldn't hesitate with buying one. I personally like the way Bob does his reverse plug on the shorty guns better than the Bedell guns but that is MY opinion and doesn't mean anything to anyone else. Pezco
Both are good options! I own a Bedell Shorty and have shot a Brazos and would buy either if I needed another gun.
mrwhite1
I own two Bedells and am very please with them, but Bob's guns are great also. It really came down to looks when I was deciding. In reality you can't go wrong from either.
bulm540
IF it is for back up I'd buy the same one ( Brazos). Either one are great choices.

If your wanting a 9 major you may not have Brazo's to consider. I would check with him first and see if this is true.

Much as I avoid all things French, that's actually a nice powder... dense, and low pressure, and perfect for 9 Major without accelerating wear on the gun.... JThompson
I'd be proud of either gun. IF I had the cash and time, I'd love to have Bob build me a gun. I had a chance to sight in one of his 9 Majors for a guy. This one had only been test fired by Bob and maybe 50 rounds through it. The slide was like butter, so good in fact, I went looking for slop and could find none. It takes a real smith to make a gun that tight and smooth right out of the box. IMHO it was the best made open I'd ever had my hands on. JT
dapribek
Dan Bedell has built 3 guns for me and they all ran beautifully. He makes a very high quality gun for a very reasonable price. You would not be disappointed in his work. Hope this helps.
edu jimenez
What is your opinion of buying the gun with 2 barrel .... 1 / 9mayor + 1/38sc regards
diehli
Might be difficult, if not impossible to get both to run in the same gun due to ejection/ejector differences. Might not be, though.
