    Slide milling

L&M Precision Gunworks did my P07.
  2. Yes. I'm a LEO. Right now I'm a Detective. Before that when I worked patrol I had a 226/RMR I carried on duty. I didn't have any insurmountable problems With the rain. It was no worse that having rain water on your glasses, really.
  3. I don't consider 42 old, but due to some recent eye issues RMR equipped guns are much easier for me to shoot well. Especially at distance. In my circle of good "shooter" friends (7 of us), 2 of us carry RMR equipped pistols.
  4. Either one of these. Yes the 229 makes weight by an easy margin.
  5. Yes. 229/RMR on duty. P07/RMR off duty.
  6. Yes. My RMR has a couple thousand on it already.
  7. Sig 229R for now. Once my P07 comes back from L&M I'll use it.
  8. I've found that the irons really only help me find the dot when I'm shooting WHO or SHO. Otherwise with a bit of practice I just bring the dot to my eyes.
  9. That's kinda the point of the thread. To give people who might be interested in CO an idea of what others have done so that they have an idea of what is legal and what isn't. Anyone can look at the production list and see what the pistol weighs as is. This thread is about posting weights after the guns have been modified for CO.
  10. That doesn't tell you weights with the specific optic and/or suppressor sights added.
  11. Thought it would be a good thread to have. CO legal guns with weights listed so people who are thinking of trying this division will know what's possible. People think this is a plastic gun division and it's not. Here's mine. 229R 9mm with Trijicon RMR weighs 32.12 oz. as shown.
  12. Jake and the rest of the staff put on a damn good match. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
  13. As soon as my extra 229 slide gets back from L and M I'll be shooting CO regularly. My 229 is my duty/off duty gun and the Chief is allowing me to carry the optic on duty. I'm really looking forward to this division.
  14. I second jmck. I have 2 of their AIWB holsters and love them.
  15. Yes it is. I just checked again (since I have one and plan on shooting production class with it). Right after the 92 on the list.
  16. Wilson Combat makes different height rear sights if you want to try to adjust your POI that way. I'm really starting to like my 92A1. It's had a WC action job. The best DA pull I've ever had on any of my DA/SA guns. Here's a stage from the first USPSA match I shot it in:
  17. Keep bugging him. He told me that numerous times over the 8 months he had my 226 slide and rmr. I was just getting ready to call the police up there about it when it showed up at my door unexpectedly. Good work, but horrible comms and CS. I'll never send anything there again.
  18. I've been watching this thread since Dragon11 let me know about it and thought I would chime in. I'm a new revolver shooter. I started shooting last year with a 3" Model 65 and speedloaders. I knew I wouldn't be competitive, but at the time that wasn't of interest. I just wanted to improve my revolver skills. I really began to enjoy it and decided to get serious about shooting revolver. I researched the different games (ICORE, IDPA and USPSA) to see which revolver would be best to buy. I settled on a 686 SSR because it allowed me to shoot all three games and be relatively competitive. After reading this entire thread and giving it alot of thought, here's what I think would bring more revolver shooters into the game: - All revolvers are scored minor, regardless of caliber (using ICOREs power factor rules) - 7/8 shot revos allowed, but with 6 shots fired maximum, with procedural penalties for each shot past that (not placed in open) - moon clip or speedloader reloads allowed Let me explain why. If the goal is to get shooters interested in shooting revolver, make it easy to get into the game like production division is. Many of the production shooters I know are like me - they don't reload and just buy factory ball ammo to shoot the match. Using the ICORE ammo rules, a guy with any old 6 shooter and speedloaders can come and play and only have really one handicap - speedloaders vs. moonclips. Being doubly handicapped by using speedloaders and also being scored minor can be quite discouraging. If and when they decide they like revolver shooting they can then spend a little money and have their cylinder cut for moon clips. This is much cheaper than buying a new gun. By not barring the 7/8 shot guns, we don't discourage guys with those guns from coming out to play. If you think about it, the 7/8 shot guys would still have a slight advantage. I know from watching some of my revolver buddies (who reload their own ammo) that having that 7th or 8th shot already loaded and ready to go when you have the inevitable misfire is definitely a benefit. Just my 2 cents.
  19. I'd like to thank everyone tha made this match possible. I had a good time, even though I didn't shoot very well. Having run/organized matches before (on a smaller scale), I greatly appreciate all the work that went into this match. Having said that , honest evaluations should be welcomed, not scorned. There were problems with this match. Like anything, striving to improve the match should be important to those responsible for making it happen next year. I happen to agree with some of what Blaster had to say. The prize table was impressive, no doubt about it. Since I shot the AM side, it was random draw, which I don't have a problem with. Since it is random draw, I prefer the random draw like Gary has done at the K3G matches I've been to at Owensboro. Give me a ticket when I check in and then have a table set up later in the match to go claim my prize. More efficient if you ask me. The Rock Castle facility was very impressive. The stages were a lot of fun (would have been more fun if I shot better) and were a good combination of different shooting skills. All in all it was a good match. Room for improvement, yes, but a good match. I'd really like to thank the Magpul guys. They gave away stuff left and right and were very cool to talk with about their up coming products.
  20. THANKS. I always knew match directing was a lot of work and appreciated all the work of the MDs out there. But now I have a new appreciation of the work MDs do. I had the opportunity to be the MD for the Ohio Police and Fire Games going on this week. WOW. Talk about long days and lots a work. So anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you do.
  21. Other than being hotter than Satan's balls, it was great match. Good stages and great prize table. Plus smoked swine. Doesn't get much better unless you turn on the AC next year. Thanks to all the guys in squad 5. It was a pleasure.
  22. Anyone know if there is one of these as a template?
  23. I've been to numerous matches where the guns were cleared by ROs. Speeds up the process and never has been a problem.
  24. The shirt was funny as hell. Glad I didn't get one. One of the guys I came down with DQ'd on stage 7 and got his shirt (I think the first one). It does suck when u get DQ'd (happened to me last year at IN Sectional). But the bottom line in any match is the SHOOTER is responsible for his/her weapons. I for one was happy to see the consistency the match staff showed. They didn't cut anyone a break based on who they were, as it should be. The easiest solution to avoid the whole thumb safety thing is simple, buy a Glock Thanks BigHamp for a great match. You can't please everyone. If you don't like the rules, don't come. Someone else will be happy to take your slot.
