  1. Dave, I have the same issue but it only happens with my 40S&W setup and not 9mm. Talk about frustrating! If I clean the press and run consistent smooth strokes that seems to resolve it for awhile. I believe it's due to something sticking and preventing perfect alignment though. I don't think the primers are sideways in the wheel but rather get tipped in.
  2. Same... Gun doesn't move and this is with a 25oz Glock
  3. Another vote for Virgil - Sent mine to him as a single shot and it came back a flawless semi-auto
  4. The gauge was designed to around the USPSA rules. If you look in the USPSA Rulebook you'll see a drawing that shows exactly how measurements are taken for magazines and then you just apply the tool in said way and viola accurately measure mags. Once you see the drawing it make sense. The short answer is your first pic was the correct one.
  5. How many cartridges do you make in an average loading session? 300 (beyond that I lose concentration) How many cartridges do you make in an average week? 300 Which press do you use? Dillon 650 How many cartridges can you load in an hour? 500-600 depending on brass quality How long is your average loading session? 30 min Knowing what you know now if your reloading equipment was lost or stolen what would you buy today? Dillon 650
  6. Only reason I can think of is if your current gun is not reliable. If it is then nothing is holding you back... practice... Bored? Sounds like you got time to practice
  7. I've shot a SJC glock with this compensator. Keep in mind I have not shot the shorter comp version but I know this one kept muzzle flip to an absolute minimum, I was pretty impressed. Call SJC and they'll recommend a powder for it as you are more limited by gas temps then volume due to the aluminum construction.
  8. 3GN... Nice to see some different match venues and the overall show is pretty good. Would like to show more of the stages being run but they seem to get better and better with that. Top Shot....Too Much Drama....nuf said.
  9. Sometimes I've had to borrow a backup but I ALWAYS have one for Area and higher matches. My backup is never identical though. I like having something slightly different (sights, grip, etc) so I can change things up without switching classes. Trigger is about the only thing that must be similar. Going from 4lb with .125" of takeup to 1.5lb with .050 takeup mid match is a recipe for an AD. Making sure both guns make PF with your ammo is a good idea too! BTW, I've never needed my backups either but I've offered them to others and had them take me up on it.
  10. Clays feels exceptional in steel framed guns but it's not for the "sloppy" reloader. Work up a load an pay attention to pressure signs. Not all brass will tolerate major PF Clays loads in 40S&W. For polymer/STI framed guns N320 is the best I've felt. It's fairly forgiving (as much as 40S&W major can be), consistent and expensive. The recoil impulse seems a "little" snappier then Clays which depending on the shooter might be a plus or minus. I will admit I've only tried Clays, N320 and Titegroup (bad bad bad) though. Been shooting too much to mess around with others
  11. Nice video Nick, you smoked that stage... even made me do an OMG Cat expression at the end. Yes... it was that impressive
  12. Big thanks to Kirk, Chad, Damon and all the RO's! Ozark 3-Gun Championship is a first class match! This was my first 3-Gun match and I feel everything else after will have a hard time measuring up. Everything including schedule, stages, location, prize table and staff were amazing. I had the pleasure of shooting with some great people on squad 8. A great squad always helps keeping things moving along and fun, thanks guys
  13. There use to be a guy in France that posted videos like this back in 2000ish time frame. Became really well known as everyone was waiting for his next video. Main difference is he did most of his stuff at triple digit dodging vehicles on France's highways. I believe it lasted 2 year and yep... he died. We all thought we were invincible at one time. Most of us just lived through the event that ended that fairy tale....
  14. Since you asked... It was broad side of barn. This was out of a Glock 34 and a M&P 9L both with stock barrels. Load was 4.1gr Titegroup 1.135 oal. At 60 yards neither of us could hit a full sized popper and that has NEVER been a problem for either of us. Both of us changed to FMJ and accuracy is on par with what you'd expect. I thought it was interesting we both experienced the same problems even though we used the same charge/powder/bullet everything else was different. Never heard of a problem with JHPs.
  15. I've seen two examples first hand of 124 CMJ's not grouping past 20yds using Titegroup. Both have since switched to JHP's with no issues.
  16. I heard you already. I'm checking with the peanut gallery
  17. So you can use a "stacked" shot from the first time without penalty? With this type of classifier requiring a mandatory reload do you treat each group of shots as a string or is it all one string?
  18. Any news on those stage descriptions? Bueller.... Bueller...... Not trying to be a pain but I (See: FNG) just want to make sure if I need gear (loaders, pouches, etc) I order them now in order to be here before the match. Also, few questions for those who have seen the new range. Is this something a 2wd car could get around in if it were to "cough" rain? Not sure if I want to beg/borrow/rent a SUV or if the gun wagon will be enough. Also, would pants be advisable? AKA is there a lot of kneeling/crawling in the dirt?
  19. Thanks Flex, I'll give that a try. I've gotten so accustom to the way the gun acts I guess I'll have to change now Whenever the sights aren't doing what I like, I normally need to give it a little more grip with the off hand and make sure I have my wrist full cammed into lock-down.
  20. Kinda weird you posted this, I'm looking for the same thing. The closest substitute I've found is to buy a Starrett micrometer body and build the other half yourself if you are skilled with the mill. The Micrometer body is only $75 from KBC tools for the clutch version. Just gotta ask yourself is your free time worth the difference?
  21. I was just wondering if aftermarket springs were allowed. They do allow grip tape and sights so I figured I'd check. My reloads run 135-139 PF so they are typically equal or hotter then most factory bulk 9mm, the gun cycles no problem I just don't like the way the front sight acts with the factory spring.
  22. Been running a U-Die on my 650 since I started reloading 3 years ago on the recommendation of shooters from this board. I never bother case checking unless it's for a major match and I might get 1 in 300 that don't pass the gauge (They all still fired in practice) but I can only remember 2 in 12,000ish 40 rounds that didn't chamber and only a roll-sizer would have fixed those.
