  1. Hey Sr. will you let me shoot revo plus 14? I cant shoot revo, the RO will time me out for being too slow on reloads. you could time me with a sundial. the other squads would riot for being held up til after sundown. How many more excuses can i offer? We are planning to come play this month.
  2. Ok, before I ask for help, it's a new to me gun and it's completely different from what I am used to. Having said that, during my review, I saw that I am COMPLETELY unsafe during unloading and reloading the gun. Please bear with me on that. That is my first priority and it will get fixed. The El Prez is what I am asking for help on. Is my head snapping around quickly enough? Am I drawing soon enough? When I have shot it in the past, mid 8's with 58 or better points is where I am. That strikes me as being way slow. Take a look at this link and please offer your advice, it is greatly appreciated!
  3. Hello Diary, Been a long time, but it's time for us. '09 was not a good season but '10 will be awesome! Tracy and I are not going to work any matches this year, we are going to be shooters for a while. Switched to limited with a new to me Pro SC. Today we start the dry fire regimen. Started with about 10 minutes of draws, transitions, reloads and some el prez. Took some videos and showed that I am unsafe right now. Need to get used to the new gun, when unloading. No timer, but felt smoothe considering its been 9 months since I dry fired.

  5. That may get you attention for other reasons But that is about Jayson's speed.
  6. A bit of a drive, but Annapolis Fish and Game is holding a classifier Jan 1. Something to try. Shooting a sanctioned match as your first? thats a tough way to go.
  7. To add to BigT's response. Silver Eagle holds a match every monday night. IDPA, 2 gun, 3 gun and USPSA. Blue Ridge is supposed to be fixing their Air Handling issues. The air is bad right now. They hold IDPA matches every other wednesday i think. The Range holds IDPA like matches in the warm months. Other ranges "in the area" with matches are: Anne Arundel Fish and Game (Annapolis) Hold IDPA matches Sanners Lake (Lexington Park) hold IDPA matches. You can also join the Yahoo Group Mid Atlantic Practical shooters. It has every match we can think of.
  8. On Monday nights at Dominion Shooting range there is a quasi idpa match. Wednesday afternoon at Black Creek Shooters association (www.bcidpa.wordpress.com) Based on your dates, that is about it, until Saturday. PM me for details.
  9. Rudy Ketyum's fit my 7 7/8's head nicely.
  10. Welcome to the forums, and your 5" gun is perfect. It has to fit the box and a 6" doesnt. Make sure you have a bushing barrel. To answer your questions 1. Yes, it should unless a weird sight on your gun or ? 2. Up to you, that is a personal decision, however a magwell will not make your reloads faster, it will however clean up small mistakes you make during your reloads. 3. I would leave the ambi on, but that is my personal opinion.
  11. Seth Get her gold... Montana type. Or Silver... Perhaps she wants a new Swingle Stack... Or a better looking husband (I still cant believe your wonderful gorgeous daughter is yours). I can go on all day. please tip your waiters and waitresses
  12. Yesterday my wife (forum member T_Deegan) and I shot a pin match (our first ever). She won Stock auto!!! I have been telling her it's only a matter of time, and yesterday proved it. Crushed me by over 2 seconds! Whoops she just corrected me, "almost 3 seconds". Anyway, it's great to see her hard work coming together. Congrats!
  13. Hey Sr. Dont forget you had some open revolver shooters on the squad... We had a lot of fun, thank you for letting a couple of skinny guns shoot with you. As always, Martin and crew put on a great match with lots of challenges.
  14. Agree. Snapped a frame rail, less than 3 weeks later including shipping had new one in my hands.
  15. Wow... Well good thing an RMI responded earlier, someone might have taken you seriously.
  16. Your pistol as I understand it, is a DAO 45 acp. Based on the published weight (23 ounces) etc, you will find it is legal in CDP, SSP and ESP. Shoot it as your match gun until it holds you back. As to the different divisions with that gun, it is how full you fill your mags. CDP is designed around the single stack 1911. Fill them to 8+1. SSP and ESP are designed around various other pistols. Fill them to 10+1. You got some good advice on quantity of mags.
  17. FWIW we use old bathroom rugs. I bet you could buy some carpet samples pretty cheap and use those. Those would be thick enough and cheap.
  18. That happened to me last year at A-8. My wife did it. We still laugh about it.
  19. Thanks all. I assumed as much, but wanted to confirm. Brian, I did search, but was definitely more narrow than yours.
  20. My search fuu is probably weak. The situation: When the 650 doesn't dump powder into the case, i will just pull the case out, drop it into a bin of primed brass. The plan is to pull the decapping pin and run them through the machine and load. The question: Will one-shot affect the primers if used properly? Some of the cases were primed 9 months ago and should be relubed before running them through. Thanks in advance.
  21. The bullets are jacketed. Thanks Ed
  22. Can you reseat and recrimp loaded rounds? We had some issues over the weekend, and we would like to run them through our 650 to reseat for OAL and recrimp. Can this be done safely or did we just make 3,000 rounds of practice ammo? Thanks
  23. Our load is 230 MG, 1.250 which is the standard factory load of federals (which we had no problems with running), 4.1 clays for my wifes gun, 4.2 for my gun. Keep in mind that this load is OVER the book, but we have no pressure signs whatsoever.
  24. The DOH is legal with the drop piece removed. You can add spacers from your local hardware store. The Comp-tac belt feed and the Bladetech equivalent are legal as well as most others. Lots of variables on mag pouches. Mine are the Uncle Mikes doubles that have been modified (cut down and spaced away from the body). Email me at deeganet at yahoo dot com if you want pictures. Regards, Ed
