  1. Read somewhere... Keep your booger hook off the bang button
  2. I have a pair of 7's and 2 pair of the 6's as well. I sent them back (the 7's) for some repairs and due to a minor glitch at the repair shop, had to return them. They even sent UPS to pick them up from me. The young lady whose name escapes me couldn't have been nicer. The best thing to do is to call their tech support at 1-800-665-2942. I bought some of the foam inserts and the plastic coated caps and they were fairly inexpensive. With shipping it was less than 20 bucks and I bought 8 foams and 2 covers. Best Regards, Ed
  3. A question on the $99.00 walmart jogger. My local stores do not have this model in stock, and I am wondering if someone can give me some help on their's to see if my equipment fits. I have a Shooters Tournament Series Range bag 23" x 17" x 11", and a Igloo Playmate 16 Quart 15" x 10" x 14" triangle topped cooler that I am looking to put on this cart. I would like to put the cooler on the bottom, and the range bag in the "seat" area. Can anyone help? Thanks!
  4. I just want to say I have enjoyed my time here on the forum very very much. All of my posts have asked for help on various things and the people on this forum have provided insight without sarcasm, judgement and in a true effort to help another shooter. For that Thank you! To reiterate, I ordered some magazines from Mr. Orr right before Christmas, he sent them Tuesday, they arrived Thursday, (thank you very much, and please let me know when the check arrives), without waiting for a check or anything. Yesterday at a match, I was remarking to another shooter about how things went with the transaction, and his response was... Yeah its always like that on this forum. So to all of you, and especially Mr. Orr, thank you very much. I used them yesterday and they worked great, now if my rifle would have only worked... Semper Fi, Ed
  5. I am a new shooter to USPSA (5 matches total), so please forgive this probably dumb question. I did do a quick search on this site looking for information but did not find anything. If I am repeating a question and responses from previous posters, please excuse me. I have always shot single stack at the local matches. At the matches I have shot, the MD's have always had at least one classifier stage. So I am shooting the classifier's. Will this eventually get me classifed or will I need to switch to another division to become a classified shooter because of the provisional status of SS? Thank you in advance for your responses. Best regards to you and yours during Christmas and any other holidays... Ed
  6. Folks, I am an IDPA shooter and a new USPSA shooter. I love shooting both for the fun and comraderie that each brings. Wilson Combat is getting ready to introduce a new gun called the KZ-9. It is a 1911 slide with a polymer frame. I think it will be a nice ESP/L-10 gun. The frame is their design etc., and are only going to offer flat main spring housings. I have small hands and have needed these on 1911's in the past. Any ideas on a way to solve this? I have been told that a standard Main Spring housing will not fit these guns (I have not seen them yet) I would rather not want to spend the money on a new gun, then send it to a smith to modify the gun to take the arched housing and then possibly get into warranty issues should the gun break, etc, but I think this will be the only cure. Does anyone know of a slide on grip band that can have that arch on it? Maybe an invention? Does anyone have any ideas, or have I answered my own question? Thank you in advance for your replies. Regards, Ed
  7. Folks, I am soliciting input on the best for off-season training. I have read Mr. Bassham's book, and think that Mr. Eno's, Mr. Anderson's and Mr. Kirsch's books might be the next ones. I have shot for a couple of years, and have taken the last year very seriously. We (my wife and I) have just started shooting USPSA (4 local matches and love it) but have been mostly IDPA shooter's. We have both been bitten by the bug and at the end of this month (end of season) will take a well deserved month off to help avoid burnout. Burnout prevention defined as we have had 2 weekend's since April without at least one match. In the past year we have significantly improved our abilities with practice, but it has been very generalized. We would like that practice to be more focused. So... 1st question, which of those books would present more training techniques to improve? All of them? 2d question, I have searched this forum and not been able to find any real specific drill "listings" that we can utilize for this. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance for your responses. Best Regards, Ed
  8. Bones, It was great to see you and the crew on Saturday. No more sandbaggin for Greg... I wish that I could have worked with your squad, not that I did not have a great squad, but it would have been a great learning experience (AGAIN). Please give your bride (if you can get her to stop talking long enough) our best. Guns that run babee... P.S. We are working on a sixth for Feb.
  9. I use Les Baer's. They are great magazines, never had a problem. My only suggestion would be that the springs are so tight that you need to load them and leave them overnight because for IDPA tac-reloads the springs are so tight that you can have a real problem trying to seat the magazine with a round in the chamber. Best Regards, Ed
  10. First of all this is my first post on this site, have been a lurker here about 3 weeks. I am very big on personal responsibility. It is my weapon, and in my control. Having said the above I am going to make some assumptions that I will lay out. Assumption #1, it appears that the SO in question was working this stage only. As opposed to the SO traveling with the squad or the "fill in" SO from the squad. I define Fill in as an experienced shooter who trades off the SO duties with other experienced shooters during the squads performance/shooting. If we accept that premise, the SO had better know the stage and more importantly the pitfalls of that stage better than the shooter. Assumption #2, I see from another thread that peeking around a barricade or looking around the stage for sight pictures while "pasting" is a big no-no for the shooter, and some of the folks who have commented on this thread commented on that thread as well. Assumption #3, The shooter is an experienced shooter (not by classification, but by safety and skill levels). How can you blame the shooter, who is looking to place well aimed shots on his targets, who may not know the location of all of his targets, as we all agree this aint USPSA, for the SO's absolute failure to be in the appropriate place. The shooter did not do anything wrong. The shooter should have the reasonable, and I am NOT a lawyer, but the reasonable expectation of the SO staying out of the way. NO DQ at all for the shooter. Having said the above I am not a certified SO, but do SO local matches.
