  1. It's a brilliant marketing strategy. You want full house custom either Matt or Bobby will still build it for you. You get everything the way you want it and a goodly wait. With CKArms you get the best components but no options. They can build them faster as no retooling the machinery for each build. The intent is to have them on the shelf, slap on your choice of optic and ship immediately. And at a savings. Perfect for me.
  2. Don't worry about getting all the rounds out of your mags....switch after 4 rounds if it makes sense...reload on the move Shoot on the move whenever possible....stopped feet = slow....at least be shooting coming into a position and be leaving while still shooting...you'll need to practice shooting on the move, but watch the big dogs...they all do it.... I made "B" class by running and stopping, but have figured out to make "A" I need to shoot on the move more....2 more points and I'm there And Like the others said...if you have to go there anyway wait til you're closer...if you can eliminate a stop then take the longer shot
  3. Thanks for the tip LoLeft.....got 8 pounds Autocomp on the way!!!!!#
  4. That's a hell of an improvement. Definitely worth the money
  5. I thought they came with match barrels? What do they do to custom fit it?
  6. I'm coming for you Trent! I got one of the CKArms Open guns from the first batch. The rest went overseas. I had so much fun competing with it for the first time a Tuesday night. I have a ton to learn about shooting a dot gun but at least I'm learning on a first class ride! I chose a traditional c more but bought a Cheely 90 degrees setback mount to try as well. Gonna be fun experimenting with load recipes too. Bobby is awesome to deal with. There's a reason he is not here anymore but he'll have to tell you what that is.
  7. I picked a bad time to buy an open gun...all I have on hand is titegroup I think a buddy is going to hook me up with a little autocomp but I've been scouring and nobody has nuttin'
  8. Good luck with that right now...you know any vendors that have any?
  9. So I no longer have the Open Glock. I liked the dot, just not the Glock. I now have one of these: 3 guesses as to builder.
  10. Lol...I just did that...bought my first open gun...it'll be here this week
  11. I handle ammo (mags) all the time. I'm a bit OCD checking that I remembered to load them.
  12. Tony Hyatt dealt with it at the time. It boils down to a couple issues. the staff there not wanting to relinquish control to the experienced Match Directors. The MDs would point out a safety issue or other USPSA violation and the staff would get mad. Another issue of the staff wanting to have hot guns on the stages.
  13. This thread is friggen awesome. More stories guys!
  14. He's a neurosurgeon....so he's smarter than the rest of us that can't read "tone" in the printed word...I personally think this level of transparency is a breath of fresh air....
  15. Due diligence was done before the decision to move to Covington. Email Jay Corn directly if you need the specifics
