  1. Could it be magazine related, or how the magazine is seating? I don't have reason to believe that is it, but just one more option to eliminate. Phil
  2. Neat story and thanks for sharing. Hopefully some one here will be able to help you with the final repair. Glad you got your gun back Phil
  3. To add a few the list. Saving Private Ryan X-Men Series Charlie and the Chocalate Factory HEAT Harry Potter Series
  4. Probably the smartest thing any of us can do. Depending on the nerves...the shaking thing sucks.
  5. Hit: Dillon 650 Miss: Selling Dillon 650 (due to life, now trying to have one bought by next summer). Buying an ACOG instead of a CQT for the JP (but the ACOG is still nice:)
  6. It sucks to loose a friend, let alone a shooting friend. My deepest condolences, Phil
  7. Heal up. It truely is a great excuse to get better at that W.H.O. thing. Phil
  8. GOOD ON YOU! Congratualations, Phil
  9. G-manbart -- pleasant & helpful. The Mods are due a round of aplause too.
  10. Sorry to hear about the loss of a great ambassadorfor our sport and rights. My condolences to friends and family, Phil
  11. That is saddening every time for sure, and it is certainly true when one is so young. Sorry for your losses, Phil
  12. I can't stand that woman either. Not to mention she is a feakin man hater (but if you read her wikepedia page you understand why a little bit). None the less she is leading HLN down a narrowing road. .02, Phil
  13. I just got back from the range today. I brought the .22 out and was interested in just focusing on sight allignment and then doing some strong/weak hand shooting. I was able to accomplish all of that and got to practice alot of malfunction drills as I was shooting a diffrent brand of ammo causing my gun not to cycle properly. It was a little annoying but it was nice to see my reflex's. I shot 200 rds and sure it was only .22 but I think this year atleast, I will be shooting alot of .22 to drill sight picture/alignment into my head and really develope my strong/weak hand shooting. Mix in some 9mm and .40 into the mix and hopefuly with some focus I will be able to maintain the pace and awareness.

    HK

I shoot an HK USP 40. You can get a nice trigger job with the LEM trigger (and some gunsmith work that will make it a smooooth pull). You can also put a Jet Funnel on there (mag well) you need to buy 16 round mags for that (you can find those at CalSportingArmory.com) and that will take you to limited or limited 10. I bought my HK before I got into the sport and needed to make it fit what I wanted shoot in the sport...but for what it is worth I would buy and XD due to the availibility of gun smiths and part availiability and price. JMO, Phil
  15. On Tuesday night I shot a single stage match at a local indoor range, not too many pure IPSC guys there but the stage design was pleasant and should be a nice match to go to when I am off. None the less I need to remember to see the top center of the front sight.
  16. PB that sucks...this whole thread deffinetly re-assures the value of the time we can spend when we have it.
  17. Welcome to the forums, you should be able to find some "off-range" help here. Phil
  18. I had the opportunity to shoot with JJ Racaza a handful of times due to a mutual friend (once on a mini-supersquad @LBM), I think it was my second match ever when JJ told me, "You are a good shooter." Of course just about anyone can become a good shooter and surely he was talking about my fundementals, but hey, I left the range feeling good that day. Phil
  19. PA is pretty relaxed, +1 for what Nick said. NRA website might have some information that you're looking for. Phil Edited to say, I used to live there.
  20. Went to the range today to break in the barrel on my JP. Did not do any pistol shooting but I certainly realize that I will really need to study well to become a good rifle shooter. However, pistol is the primary focus. Just for kicks today I got to shoot a Desert Eagle .50 today...lot of gun, lot of power not much practical application.
  21. Under 1,000 but thanks for bringing up the subject as it prompted me to create spreasheet, which will be a nice reflection of my motivation. Phil Happy shooting 2009
  22. If this is your first press I would strongly recomend buying new for the little extra $$ needed. If something is bumped in shipping or there is a spring that is weak somewhere it could make your set up hell, it will be easier on you to know whats going on in the first place. Of course that all goes out the window if someone lives by you that you can put your head together with to see what's what. +1 on the 650 Phil
  23. It took me a year and a half to figure this out, but the real currency in this statement as it relates to shooting is... TIME. The more time purposly invested, the faster I will go.
  24. It's comming back! I feel like if I can afford enough range time and dry fire (purposly) that I can achieve my goal. 2009 shooting goal is to make B class in production (needing to get an XD9tac, so I can shoot factory ammo cheaply; not in the position to have press currently). *Depending on gun "issues/avialibility" I will set my goal as B in Limited 10 (I already have the gun, but ammo is more costly). Draws and front sight focus are feeling good, I should be getting my first range time in 6 months next week.
