Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Also, anyone have any experience with BA 7 1/2? I also plan on playing around with couple more powders to see what feels best in this setup.
  2. I'll give it a go. I would rather add powder than shorten OAL.
  3. Yes and no. I would love to be able to get 9.4gr of 3n38 in a 9x19, but I don't see that happening. However, it does provide starting points.
  4. Only thing listed there is for 147's. I have a 2014 Vantec PDF that lists a few more. Current Vantec does not list SP2. 8.7 grains is about the max I can get in a 9x19 case (mixed head stamp) of 3n38. I'm currently playing around with 124 MG RN just as a starting point. Fired from a G17 with a KKM barrel and SJC comp. 8.6gr of 3n38 at 1.160 OAL, I'm averaging right at 1300 fps. Gonna start backing down the OAL to give it a boost in speed/pressure. Guessing I will have to go down to 1.145 to make major with a little extra for safety net. After I can get a 124 dialed in, next experiment will be 115's.
  5. Which manual and where can it be found? Everything I have or can find only has scant SP2 and 3n38 data. In process of working up 9mm major and have plenty of 3n38 on hand.
  6. Looks good. Love the barrel.
  7. I have both TF and Dawsons...I get a reloadable 20 in both, but only after modifications.
  8. I'm not a leftie...but my son is. The relaese on the 35 was giving him fits. I had an un-used extendedd release with over-sized button attached ( a THE I think) laying around collecting dust so I had him try that out. The button is kinda oval shaped extending back towards the shooter. I removed the button, rotated 180 degrees and re-attached it. Now he justs hits the button with his weak hand index finger. With the button facing forward, he only has to adjust a small amount to be able to engage the release.
  9. Is it the contact with your hand, the attachment or both that you don't like?
  10. I'm still not up an running yet....two issues, out of primers and having issues with my comp fitting my barrel.
  11. I have multiple 3rd gen Glocks...all of their dust covers angle up slightly, but do not contact the slide...not an expert, but I think it is a non issue.
  12. 34's and 35's are production legal, 17L's and 24L's are the one that are too long for production. If it were me I would start with a 35 with very minor modifications...springs and 25 cent trigger job. Save any kind of expensive modification for after you have some matches under your belt and can make a better judgment on what will work with your own shooting style. With minor add ons, the 35 can slide right into limited/limited 10 or even open...though a .40 is not quite as competative in the top tiers of the open division.
  13. A question to make sure I'm reading your graph correctly: With the provided criteria (load and dot height), a 20 yard zero and a 6 MOA dot, at 5 yards the bullet will strike low by approximately the perceived width of the dot and at 50 yards, the bullet will strike near the top of the red dot, correct?
  14. Is the 20 sf a ambidexterous mag release?
