I spent a few nights "converting" my gear to fit the ELS. Go to the hardware store, buy some 8-32 screws, washers, etc. Pull out the dremel, drill and a Beer or two. You will be happy when you are finished but it is a bit of a PIA.

This is not a Political post, just an observation. Are you starting to get that twinge in your gut? When is the panic buying going to start? Election in under a year... Do I have enough Mags stashed? Should I buy another AR? Will Primers vanish again? Are prices going to jump 40% overnight? Just checking if anybody has that feeling...

The new "recoil" magazine is ok. GUNS and American Handgunner are pretty good. Anything paid for by Ad space is going to have a lot of bias/bs. Forums like this on have the best info (my opinion)

Anybody using this system? Better/worse than ELS? I wonder if it will mount up with an ELS belt?

Has anyone heard the rumor Blade-tec is coming out with a Belt system like the ELS system? It may just be talk but I wanted to throw it out there. About to hit click on a 300 dollar rig change....and i would hate to miss the next "big thing"

Not for nothing but...seems like there are way too many issues with a product they claim to be so reliable and well engineered.

An extra 3 inches is a big deal in some areas but not an issue for 3 gun. Chances are, your mag tube will be sticking out to 24 anyway so barrel length is mute. With the 24 you will have flexibility to load up for fun matches, a little better sight radius and even tubes (if that matters or you have OCD) If you can get a 21 great, if not, don't waste your energy. When you build your next gun buy a new 21 m2 or pick up a race ready from Benny. All that being said, I was looking at that camo 21 as well. Stripping and matte blueing shouldn't be a big deal, you can probably get it done locally. I saw a 21 inch m1 on the used gun rack at cabelas near my house, made the mistaking of "thinking about it" for one evening and it was gone the next morning....

I just picked up a new 5.25 XDM and needed a new comp rig ( holster, pouches, etc) so I placed an online order with Shooters Connection. I headed out on vacation without checking for an order confirmation hoping to come home to a nice package just in time for the next club match. When I did get to my email and voicemail I found a note from Corey at SC asking if I really wanted an XDM holster and XD mag pouches b/c XD pouches won't fit XDM mags. I never even thought of this. Anyway, the order shipped before I could get in touch with them and I thought I would be going to my first match sporting the factory mag pouches, having to return the ones that shipped and dealing with a bunch of little annoying BS that I really hate. Well, Corey took it upon himself, using common sense, and switched my order so I would get the right stuff. Now, this may not seem like a big deal but I am constantly disappointed with the level of service I receive from retail and online shops and almost gave up on expecting anything less than complete incompetence when making a purchase. You can tell the folks at SC know their products, know our sport and care about customer satisfaction. Anything I can possible get from SC I will, they have earned my business. Were you getting the Viper HS from him also? Those don't appear to be on Vortex's own web site any more. Not sure who would still carry them. Hope you enjoy the MTAC. Ok...enough with the 007 top secret lingo. Who is making this thing, what is done to it (from Benny's comment, not much) and would you buy one. My thoughts: The New "factory" Gun..seems way overpriced..too many people involved that need to make a buck and no big company is going to deal with the liability involved with a highly (i.e. properly) modified race gun, hence no bolt mods,etc. I may have misunderstood Benny's post if so i retract my rant....

Is there any reliability or performance (softness/impulse) difference between rifle length buffer tubes vs carbine length? Do you really need the adjustability of a carbine stock? and does it outweigh any disadvantages? Thank!

For a few bucks more I think I would stick with JP. 3g or not DPMSs are still farted off an assembly line. I had issues years ago with the first 3g (Clark Gator) went with JP and never looked back. just my .02
