Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I agree with sharing platforms. I am working hard to win and practicing accordingly.....throw in another platform? I don't need to practice something different right now with what little time I have. I do find it funny that people are talking about recoil concerns.......9mm..........
  2. The targets are standard targets as noted on the FBMG15 site.
  3. That model is so old that I can see them coming up with a new part number.
  4. Yeah, the smaller diameter can't be that comfortable. I know I can go over 3 mag dumps before it gets uncomfortable to hold with my larger diameter handguards, but have not tried keymods.
  5. This is interesting. I have found exact opposite to be true even in AZ heat where I shoot the most. What handguard are you using with it? I am using Samson and JP and neither have gotten hot.
  6. They are not the same as 1911 springs from what I was told. By whom were you told, not that I don't believe you I was just hoping for some first hand experience. I think it may be a combination of factors, the fact that my piston system seems to need slightly hotter rounds to run reliably in it's current state. Lighter springs may help this. And, that the hiperfire trigger has those toggle springs. I currently have the strongest ones in there which give you the lightest trigger pull, but past half way the hammer actually exerts more force to the primer, also meaning it takes more force to cock the hammer. It may be time to just get the spring kit from JP... About using multiple kinds of ammo for a match, yea, I would probably agree it is not a great idea. Thing is though, that 3gun falls in a very distant second in priority to USPSA so I really just shoot it for fun. I buy whatever ammo is on sale, so I would like to have a gun set up to handle all types. The change in feel during the match is not enough to cause any problems as long as the gun goes bang every time. I asked the question by email last year to their parts department.
  7. They are not the same as 1911 springs from what I was told. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to try the Hyperfire trigger. I only use Geissele and JP triggers. Even with powder puff loads and using rifle length gas systems, my guns have been running fine on the stock spring.
  8. I have used Syrac and JP. I would get the clamp on style. Even if it is knocked over or it moves, you can move it back. But I have not had mine move.
  9. I have all the brands listed and others. No issues with mag seating with 30 loaded on popular polymer mags. uSGi is loaded to 29 and no issues. I seat hard and I pull to check.
  10. Have gotten everything back including powder at most majors.
  11. It is a proprietary system like every company out there that will design their tube to be rigid over time. So no, there is not a aftermarket carbon fiber tube that will screw right on to their system.
  12. Match barrels will do what they were made to do. What is good enough to you may not be what others' consider good. I expect my barrels to be well within sub MOA as I don't want to second guess my equipment. Buy once and regret never.
  13. Practice 3 shots and then moving on. Do not go to war on one target you can't hit and waste money only to get frustrated on penalties incurred. Also have fun and go slow.
  14. Worth every penny. It is something that I have wanted for so long that when I was ready to buy one it was just options that held me back.
