  1. RIP Venry...you will be missed by those that knew you and whose lives you touched.
  2. This blaster looks just as awesome in person as it does here in the forums, folks! How does that saying go? If you want something done right then do it yourself. Great looking work, Cliff!
  3. Krishnamurti- The circle of enlightenment
  4. Hey Gang! I thought it would be interesting and informative for everyone to breakdown a "shopping list" for an Open gun build. I think this will give everyone an insight into what people are using to build as well as some ideas for future projects. Please include or list the parts or components you have used or plan to use for an Open gun project and why. Let's see those dream Open build lists!
  5. Please let me try the 'noisy cricket' at the next match, K, I'd love to see how it shoots! I second it. having a great time with my new modifed, everyone wants to know what happended to the rest of the gun.
  6. Thanks Ron! I appreciate all the info! I know I had tried the N350 before in a friends FS 38Super and liked it alot; flat, soft and very clean. I was also looking at Silhouette as I had heard the same good things you're saying. I'm admittedly most interested in True Blue and HS6 since I have both on hand and easy to get here local. How do you compare those to what you've loaded before? Again, thanks for the advice and info, I appreciate it. I tried N350 didn't care for it, I use it in 38 Super some times. HS6 is ok, and AA#7 is very good but a compressed load and must be loaded 1.180 or better, slings powder pushes primers out etc but shoots real nice.. Silhouette seems to be the best in soft flat and clean and easy to load.
  7. Thanks Amish! I appreciate the info and recipe. I've had great results with the VV family of powders in the past and want to try it especially now in my own Open gun. I will be shooting a Bedell FS 9Major Open gun now to go along with my Bedell Limited gun. Awesome blasters! Were there any other loads or recipes that you have tried so far that you liked for Open?
  8. Thanks all for your replies and recipes! Assuming you all have FS guns and similar setup, how do you compare these 3 powders (N350, True Blue, Silhouette) with recoil and dot movement/tracking? Also, have any of you tried HS6? Do you have any recipes and feedback on HS6 as well?
  9. Just starting the whole process of Open and looking for some recipes. I am looking to use both 121gr MG and 124/125gr MG and Zero projectiles, I have a small stash to use. I would be looking for full PF recipes to accomodate a 9Major FS Open gun with no popples and a Bedell Ti comp. Ideally, I would be looking for recipes utilizing True Blue, N350 or Silhouette powders as I have a supply on hand. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Great move! Laugh out loud funny! be sure to stay till the very end to check out all the funny scenes!
  11. I just saw this movie earlier today and it is what it is supposed to be a summer blockbuster and money maker for all involved. Then again, it may have been the most expensive and longest GM/US military commercial EVER! Seriously, it was a good flick. Check it out!
  12. Do you have any recipes for 38Super/SC using HS-6 or True Blue? What is your 9Major HS-6 recipe consist of?
  13. Give Derek @ MC Guns a call. I have seen his 30+ round mags run first hand. Plus, he is a vendor here and a first-class nice guy. www.mcguns.com. Anybody else want to confirm this info for me?
  14. Thanks for the feedback, G-man1 I appreciate it! So, do you normally need more powder with popple holes or does it depend on the length of the barrel? Have you ever used True Blue for 38Super/SC as well as 9Major? I have never used TB before but I have seen friends that load with TB and it seems to work great with 9Major so I was hoping it might work with the 38's as well. As for the projectiles, I have never tried the lighter stuff like 115's or even the 121's but the 125's I have shot were awesome. Of course, it was loaded using N350 too I absolutley love how consistent and clean the VV powders are but they're hard to get and a bit more expensive. I know, I know, inexpensive and Open should not be in the same sentence. All in all, I'm dying to jump into Open and see if I can hold my own. If any of you folks have any other suggestions or recipes for 38Super/SC or 9Major using True Blue or other available powders, I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks again!
  15. Does anyone out there have any recipes for their 38Super Open gun using True Blue powder? I am looking for loads using both 121gr and 124/125gr projectiles. The blaster in question is a FS 5incher with no popples. However, please submit any and all recipes using True Blue powder. Thanks!
  16. Try doing a search for heat-resistant tape. I think I remember using a 3M heat-resistant tape for a shotgun project that may work on your C-More as a "popple-hole preventative" The tape was similar to the stuff used in racing for engine electrical protection. What can it hurt, right? Hot gas and high velocity will tear up the polymer used for the standard C-more mount. I noticed some erosion after just a 200 rounds through the gun which lead me to put some duct-tape in that area until I could get the sight moved back.
  17. How about my old standby, IDPADV8R...I do call dibs on that!
  18. Cliff, I'll try to be @ Malabar tomorrow. I'm hoping to see you and Tammie there. Just promise not to beat up on me too bad as a b-day gift, okay? Please?! The day is today but come on, I'm getting old Anyway, you can always use my Open mags if you need them since I don't have a need for them right now Anyway, hope to see you guys there. Squad up? I have the SV tubes ready to go, I just need the base pads... . ...and the gun!
  19. Ah, come on, Cliff...you don't really want to shoot Open, do you? What tubes are you planning on using?
  20. It was a great match with great people...pretty much the norm at a USPSA match. The stages were challenging but fun and I'm sure great prep for the upcoming Area 6 match. Congrats to all the winners, trophies or not, but especially to all the Central Florida shooters...represent Special thanks to Squad 12, you know who you all are! Finally, THANK YOU VERY MUCH to PaulW and Dan Bedell for all the help, talent and craftsmanship that went into my pistol...even I couldn't screw up that piece of art! Here's to next year and Area 6 upcoming!
  21. Tony, Thanks again for the advice. If time and ammo supply allows it, I will DEFINITELY practice beforehand. Maybe I'll see you there...Squad 24.
  22. Tony, Thanks for the advice and change (.02) I have shot a few sectional and state matches, so I am somewhat familiar with the whole "stage prep with reloads and round count only to have it all changed the day of match" thing. I just wanted to overview and get an idea of round count and basic stage scenario. Thanks again! I've found that trying to gameplan a stage off these descriptions is an exercise in futility. The are cool and serve a purpose. They give you a round cound plus a general idea of the layout of the stage. However, when you start trying to set your reload points, etc. you find that the reality of the stage varies somewhat from the graphic. You may think you have it all figured out and it looks good on paper. But when you actually see the stage, things aren't always what you expected. Targets you thought were visible from a certain point may not be and vice versa. Timing of movers and props can't be figured in advance. In my opinion you shouldn't try to read too much into the stage description. Keep the pre-conceived notions to a minimum and study the stage when you're standing on it. Just my $.02 Tony
  23. The stages all look awesome! This will be my first Area match and looking forward to it quite a bit. I am trying to print out the stages to cram before the match but I'm unable and it freezes my computer...any advice?
  24. Yeah, it's pretty sweet, Paulie...Dan is the freakin', man!!!
  25. Thats what I thought...What rule number?
