Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I use a JP on my GEN 4 G17 where I modified the plug for use on the smaller frame hole on the GEN 4 SF frames. I like it alot. I also use this polymer version of a Magwell on some of my Gen 3 guns and I like it very much as well. Prezine Magwell

    SHOT and Glocks

Regarding competition use of our product, a pro competition shooter friend of ours made some initial inquiries to the powers that be to check on the validity of our grip adapters for use in USPSA and IDPA. USPSA: After an initial inquiry, we were advised that our grip adapter would be good to go in Limited/Limited 10 divisions, but would likely not be allowed in Production. A final determination would have to be decided on by the governing body. IDPA: We were advised that as the product is attached via the pin and not a permanent modification, it would be legal for use in SSP as well as ESP and CDP. This only holds for SSP as long as the grip is not permanently affixed to the gun via glue, epoxy, etc. Same as above, a final determination would have to be decided on by the governing body. Not trying to argue the point, I'm just going off the information that was forwarded to me. As always, each individual should confirm whether or not its use is allowed if they decide to shoot competition with our product. If anyone can quote either rule book to clarify or disprove the above info, it would be appreciated. Hope this helps. FJR

    SHOT and Glocks

Here is another option for beaver tails on Glocks. We also had a display at SHOT. GRIP FORCE ADAPTERS In the interest of complete disclosure, I have direct ties to this company. FJR
  4. I received the best service from these guys and the lowest prices that I ever had for an Aimpoint. My carbine now sports a T1 and a 3x Magnifier. The prices listed on the site are the minimum that they can post on line, but the final prices are the best I have ever seen anywhere. I contacted them and ended up with a sweet set up. If you are in the market for an Aimpoint, check them out. Pistol Dynamics Awesome source, and excellent service! Some day I hope to get one of their pistols.

    G34 mag springs

Replacing your springs as needed with the Wolff extra power ones seem to be an excellent way to either get back, or maintain, reliability. I thought that I heard that Glock Inc may have begun using 11 coil springs in their newer mags, but I do not know this for sure.

    SIGHTS FOR MY 34

As far as patridge sights go, I like the Warrens. It all comes down to personal preference. If you are able, shoot other persons' guns/sight combos to see if you like what they are using. Much cheaper than buying a bunch of different sets of sights to see what you like.
  7. The reference guide that Jman speaks of is pretty good.

    open glock in action

Very cool video and good run. After my shooting group started filming our training we noticed the huge value it offered. The best part about video, besides the training value, was being able to give your buddies procedurals after intense video review!
  9. Moderator note: I originally edited this thread to add a poll to it...as we seemed to get a lot of "second hand" opinions on the CCF frame from those that didn't have one. Since that time, the thread has run long. Many pages into the thread, and after closer scrutiny, I've been contacted by a number of members that wish to edit what they originally posted. We really don't do that here. If you post something, you need to stand by it. Accountability. If you now see things in a different light...good on you. And, thanks for being big enough to step up and say so. But, we won't be going back and editing past content. (we don't really have the time and means to do that type of thing) So, those reading this thread for info...be sure to read it to the end and get a complete picture. - Admin. -------------------------------------- I kept tabs on most of the posts here about CCF Raceframes for the last year +. When I first heard of them from the 2007 SHOT, I had really high hopes for them just to tinker around with, and to eventually make a slick competition gun. Then, all sorts of problems started cropping up. At the 2008 SHOT I actually got to see and hold them and I was really hoping that all the bugs had been worked out. I liked the idea of a stainelss (heavy) G17. As soon as I heard that shock buffs were needed to help prevent damage, I was really turned off and the chances of having a defensive gun made with a CCF frame plumeted. Why would I want to make a gun that was more like a 1911? Has anyone been able to have their CCF frame modified to the point where it is as reliable as a regular Glock polymer frame? If so, who does the best work? Were shock buffs still needed to make it run? Was a different guide rod needed? It seems the customer base has been generally unhappy with the product and I am not going to touch one until I see/hear some consistent reports of good results. If anyone with first hand experience could chime in, I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance, FJR
  10. I had a Storm Lake 9mm Conversion barrel in a G35, but I had too many malfs. I tried all sorts of configurations with extractors and ejectors, but nothing seemed to work.
  11. Joe, Great advice! Thanks for posting this info.
  12. In my experience, the best all around solution is stippling the frame itself, especially if you do not like the finger grooves. I prefer them removed. With permanent stippling instead of tape, you do not have to worry about the grip tape coming loose if the gun is hot or sweatty, nor do you have to worry about getting cleaning solvents on your tape. After I had a frame done by Bowie Tactical Concepts (IMHO The Industry Standard for Polymer gun work), I did this for a friend of mine.
