  1. I run two bags too. One bag has the gear I wear; both belts, muffs plus the essential practice stuff like pasters and a stapler along witha 200' tape measure. The other is smaller that has just enough stuff to shoot stages. It carries mags, batteries, glasses, some tools and ammo. If you think you might need it take it. At least the first time. FM
  2. Don't keep us in suspense! How'd it go? I have a brand new undersized die and need info. FM
  3. I happened to run on to a factory loaded 38 Super a couple of years ago and took it home to compare the factory crimp to my own reloads. The factory loaded stuff had a lot more crimp than I use and I think I use a lot! I'd rather sacrifice a little accuracy in favor of safety. FM
  4. And XTP's would be a great bullet too! Or HAPS. But there is some lead exposure. I think you would really have to work at it to touch the lead of a JHP. It wouldn't be like loading a lead semi wadcutter like I used to like. JHP have the wieght in the back, like a Porsche 911. In theory that's why they fly well. YMMV FM
  5. You can buy Winchester 230 JHP's in bulk from Powder Valley. Each box contains 1830. I can't remember the cost. It is a damn good bullet though. FM
  6. A new shooter needs secure inexpensive holster. The money saved goes in the ammo fund. FM
  7. Checkmate? They did my open and SS. First class work. FM
  8. Iowa can survive without the United States, but the United States can not survive without Iowa. And the weather is good too! For now anyway., FM
  9. Has anyone tried 4756 and 230 GRN bullets? The lowest charge IMR has for it is way over major. Can I go way under their recommended start charge? I have Titegroup and Universal to play with this weekend too! FM
  10. I always liked the idea of identical back up guns. Spare gun=spare parts! FM
  11. The Pact MKIV I have is 10+years old and is still rock solid. The chrono never let me go minor at a tournament either. Shoot the sky screens up! They are inexpensive and you can order them in bulk like I did! (It's windy where I live!)
  12. Right. That's why you have to do both. And record which holes were bench and which were freesyle. JMHO FM

Exactly. The late great Gaylon Mosier said the same thing about winning Nationals (Motocross). You just get into what you are doing and it's DONE! You don't remember a thing. FM
  14. I agree with TKC. Zero at ten yards and then check your groups at 25 yards. Take a bunch of ammo and spend the range time just shooting groups! I keep the target I finish zeroing with and identify the hits (on the target)with the yardage and wether the hits were from the bench/sandbag or free style. It also adds a little confidence to leave this target visible as you leave the house on match day. If butchering the English language was a misdomener I would be on Death Row.
  15. I don't know what the current 45 favorite powder is but I used to burn a lot of Winchester Super Target (WST) with 185 lead wadcutters. It was a little dirty but nothing I couldn't live with. The next 45 powder I want to try is 4756. I want to see if I can get a powder that will work with both 38SC and 45 ACP. FM
  16. You will never regret owning the 550. FM
  17. Stinger Man; you should have looked at the Lenova Z series! But if your Dell is as good as my Dell Axim 50v you won't be disapointed. My BIL has four Dell notebooks a various vintages and the four are still functional. You'll be OK. 24 #1 on the way! FM Out!
  18. I really liked my Glock 21's. Wish I would have kept one. FM
  19. Everyone keeps telling me to shoot fast; the A's will come later. LOL! FM
  20. If I had nothing to shoot I would get an Edge. It's evrything you need until you decide which direction your going. Should you decide to sell, you shoudn't get hurt as bad versus a custom BTO rig. JMHO FM
  21. I'd sell one that looked like that too. You should have seen what it looked like before!! FM
  22. How would have John Wayne pronounced it? FM
  23. I love last night - Derick is like "is he ok?" and Chloe says "don't worry, he's good at this" I thought that was great too! My style. It looks to me like Derick could be Jack's replacement when that sad time comes. FM
  24. Here is what I did. But I was looking for something cheap. Mine is for sale. FM
