  1. Yep, do what works for you and gets you the results you want. But sometimes physical limitations need to be addressed and then you do the best with what you got
  2. not if you are countering the finger pull with push from the thumb I have always shot with the finger hooked but I have giant hands that make guns look tiny. This is a P10F and you can see my support hand index finger wrapped all the way around the trigger guard. Since my hands are so big if I put four fingers under the trigger guard then my pinky has no place to live and is useless in making grip. I shoot the same with my P10C, full size 1911s, SP01 and S2.
  3. Seems like an easy rules update to push out. Just remove "loaded" from 10.5.6.
  4. Some range lawyers will say that 2.1.3 defines Safe Angles of Fire and does not mention specifically call out "180 issues" only ricochet and berm issues.
  5. If you want to get nitpicky, what about NS targets, but with a downrange start? You are moving uprange and the backside of all the NS are brown facing you while you move.
  6. Its exactly the point. When it makes no difference in the stage execution, what does it matter if your hands are are your sides, hovering over your gear or you have one finger in your nose and one thumb up your a$$?
  7. Unless the first target is directly in front of you and it make sense to engage it from the draw, there is no benefit/drawback to specifying a hand position when you need to move enough to eat up a draw.
  8. My buddy is a USPSA guy but just shot his first SCSA match and had no real understanding how the peak times and classifications worked and how results were presented in a skewed fashion (combined). After some discussion it was when I finally said that the CO world record is still 5 seconds slower than the basic RFPO 100% time that he finally got it.
  9. How big is the dot on your "optic" you mention? If its 5MOA or larger, you should turn down the brightness to minimize flare so you can get the dot on the same point each time. Any lens flare might be keeping you from aiming at exactly the same point each time.
  10. Its been a bit since I originally built this so the peak times might be out of date. I am setting the lowest total peak time as the baseline and then scaling all other total peak times based on that. Then using that factor to renormalize the individual match times based on the division. Its all formulas so just updating the peak time area will update the scale factors and the rankings for the match in the example. As you can see in the sample, the first shooter beat the second shooter in raw time but since CO peak is less than RFPO peak, the second shooter's final time is scaled down by that factor, thus beating the first shooter in the combined group. He shot better within CO than the first one did within RFPO, so that is reflected here.
  11. I built an example for an SCSA points series (converted to Google Sheets just now) by normalizing the peak times and separating combined, centerfire and rimfire groups. First, second and third place get 5, 4, and 3 points respectively. All others that complete the match get 1 point. You can view the file at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1z57RdZ9uQF7qK2PZ-PD6i11mb9y63JDgjmaOVONH0no/edit?usp=sharing MIght be useful to some for ranking across divisions. Its a manual process the way it is, but the concept can be moved to a script
  12. This is how I determine the 180 relative to the bay, not the stage. 180 is the green line, red line is the median intercept, red "arrows" are equal length for three sided bays (including where one side is not "shootable") and equal angles for two sided bays
  13. Oh, okay. Couldn't tell from your post so assumed you were including USPSA
  14. What are you talking about? The USPSA rules for arbitration clearly indicate it can be anyone that is a competitor in the match. Only requirements is that the are certified ROs for L3+ and preferred certified ROs for L1/2. The only time match staff can possibly be on the committee is during staff match.
  15. Unless the WSB says you can't stow or carry a magazine after picking it up from the location, then you can do what you want with it other than stick it in your mouth. But remember, if you have additional mags on your belt and you end up pulling one of those for any reload during the COF instead of the one you picked up and stowed, then you start getting procedurals.
  16. Never going to happen but I think that the bylaws should be changed so that anything short of criminal activity would require an elected official subject to removal be raised and approved by the board, to then be given a special election by members to determine if the elected official should be removed after the complaint and appeal are made public to the membership. Voted in then only voted out (sans criminal activity)
  17. It's related to being an outsider that several of the BoD don't like. He's worked nearly 50 majors hundreds of locals without any complaints filed.
  18. Such BS. He has been doing this for years, so I can't see him not resetting correctly. As long as the directions for shooting the stage are read the same, while technically part of the wsb the sponsor/ro intro and any administrative notes are not important to competitors and have no impact on competitive equity WA and CA have specific laws about sexual harassment and I don't think calling deltas dicks really fits any of them. Otherwise anyone saying dick in public is committing sexual harassment Was he even warned or talked to during the match by the RM that filed the complaint? Apparently no one corroborated or claimed to be a victim or chose to come forward as a witness according to some reporting.
  19. He has been an RM at a major matched but not a certified RM via NROI.
  20. AFAIK, both Pres and that AD in question were elected after the bylaw change. So selective enforcement
  21. The P10F will eat most anything, so you can run nearly any load/recipe that makes power factor. I run 4.6gr CFE Pistol with 125gr RN Bear Creek Supply polycoated (they are a few miles from me so I can go pick up and not pay shipping on an order of 15k) set to 1.09" OAL. Yes they are set short but they also run in my Bull Shadow 2 which needs the shorter length, as well as my SP01 and P10C all making PF.
  22. No such thing as an AD, only an ND. Someone, somewhere along the process messed something up or didn't maintain something that in the end caused the discharge. Just like there are no automobile accidents, only automobile collisions.
  23. Nice. So much better than bumping the feeder and launching shims all over the garage
