  1. The firearm ready condition per the WSB is "loaded and holstered" or "unloaded on a table" or similar. So holstered may be part of 8.1.
  2. Where does it say that preparing is an exemption to the equipment rule during the course of fire? Again I get the intent of the rule and I'm have never actually enforced it in the way I am describing. I'm just stating that the actual verbiage says something that goes beyond what was intended
  3. D4 SC #1 "When in the ready conditions as specified under 8.1, a gun with an external hammer must be hammer down. A hammer is considered to be in the "hammer down" position when the hammer is placed there by pulling the trigger while manually lowering the hammer (manually decocking) or by activating the decocking lever if present." The ready condition in the WSB is "loaded and holstered". If you load the gun and holster it even just to barney up, it is the ready condition (loaded and holstered), even if it is before the start signal. So technically per D4 SC #1, you are violating a division's equipment rules. I fully understand that this is not the intent of the rule but as it is written its a bump. Hell even following that logic, holstering after a the first shot has been fired with hammer back safety on is also a bump. That is all i am saying and why I previously suggested amending the language.
  4. IMO, anything not safety related should be fair game prior to the start signal and once the start signal happens, then division rules should be strictly enforced. But that may not always be what the rule book says.
  5. If you can make 33 rounds fit in a 141.25mm mag then more power to you. I assumed the question was about capacity not length.
  6. no because the mag limits applies specifically "after the start signal"
  7. I see where is coming from. 8.3.1 is the definition of Make Ready and it says "and prepare the firearm in accordance with the written stage briefing". If that says "loaded and holstered" then holstering the production gun with external hammer cocked and locked is not in compliance with D4 Special Condition #1 "when in ready condition". The ready condition is not defined anywhere as after "Are you ready?". So even holstering with hammer back and safety on after the start signal in production is a bump to open per the "letter of the law" going by that special condition. We all get the intent of the rule and once again this is proof that the rule book is not always clear and consistent. Those special conditions should indicate "prior to the start signal" or similar language
  8. The equipment violation occurred during the COF (after Make Ready), so I agree in principle with robchavous but I agree with you that before the start there is no advantage and it was not a safety violation as that ready condition is legal for DA/SA.
  9. yep, two targets both the minimum required presentation from each and a non scoring border added to the cut one. The rear target complies with 4.2.4.3 and the cut one complies with 4.2.4.2 and both comply with Appendix B1 Minimum A-Zone Requirements
  10. What if the shooter catches it themselves and corrects before the start signal? Its not the same safety type of infraction like hammer back without the safety, so can they self-rectify to avoid the bump? There is no advantage to the shooter to correct it, but it was "During the COF" since after Make Ready.
  11. Show me a full diameter hole in whatever hardcover I supposedly hit and prove that it was my shot, or count it.
  12. I couldn't zoom so I didn't realize there was another wall there. if it is not impacting the view fo T3 and T4 or the poppers from opposite side then i see no issue
  13. This type of variance, at least to me, is not acceptable as it affects the time to finish the stage as it requires more time to move the extra distance. So your club is at a disadvantage in this case. An inch here or there in target and wall placement is one thing. Target overlap should be exact as possible (even the official targets may have variations in size, etc) and that is doable within the tolerances of the targets dimensions themselves.
  14. I have only seen one person use shooting gloves in USPSA (she was a new to USPSA shooter at her first match) and never once in SCSA. I'll about I've only got about 2 years of matches under my belt but still. I have not seen anyone use a sling either, even though it appears to be legal in PCC.
  15. How do you enforce #2? So those that want to abide by local laws get screwed by those that don't care for #3? If a range applies 3.3.1 or whatever it is and forces 10 rounds in all divisions it won't get a lot of repeat shooters.
  16. *thumb rest [generic]* I am not a fan of, but OFM like parts in mass produced guns is fine with me, even if the gun was produced just for this game and division. It's still no mag wells, no rackers, no optics, no frame weights, no comp or optic, limited capacity, etc that makes it fun and less of a money pit.
  17. There are still weight limits, no magwells, no slide rackers, no slide cuts, no SAO.
  18. Still not a DQ because I set it on the ground it on a stable platform. If it was balanced when I let go I satisfied the rules. If it falls over after that then it does not meet the glossary definition of dropped gun
  19. But if the gun falls off the table or even falls and muzzles someone/180's, how is it the shooters fault and responsibility when they were not in control at the time and the gun was placed in accordance with the rules? I can't be blamed for acts of nature (wind blowing over table for example) or the RO not maintaining stage props
  20. They can only do so through forbidden actions and off limits areas that are predefined in the WSB
  21. Agreed. 10.5.3 requires the competitor to drop or cause to fall. Neither happens here.
  22. Why don't you go shoot limited since you want a change. Let production be.
  23. Then in this case what is "within the fault lines" when there is no fault line at the wall to constrain said "within"? Had it said "within the shooting area" there would be no (or fewer) questions
