  1. Regular USPSA load out is gun, mags, ammo, eyes, ears (both electronic and molded passive), mag brush, brass rod, small hammer, sunscreen, bug spray, grip enhancer, multi caliber cleaning kit, hoppes spray, oil, tool kit, multi tool, pen, sharpie, stapler and staples, batteries (cr1156 (?), cr2032, AA, AAA, 123), timer, individual trauma kit, knee pads, couple bandaids medical tape, Neosporin. Bag of parts (springs, pins, all factory parts I've replaced) All that in my range bag. Belt and allied equip. Then tripod chair, wagon, umbrella, cooler, gloves, cooling towel, or whatever else weather requires
  2. That is how I see it. Its forcing you from fast transitions coming from middle to one of the ends driving into the near target, then 3+ paper and some steel (depending on your stage plan) over a nearly 180 degree swing that require more accuracy after a long movement. Swingers are not technical, they are just a PITA at times. But what is technical to some is not to others. Opinions vary and you'll get consensus on it
  3. I like the Hogue G10 grips on my SP01 https://www.hogueinc.com/handgun-grips/cz/cz75/g10/cz-75-cz-85-piranha-grip-g10-g-mascus-green
  4. I'd call that technical. Has run-n-gun, point shooting, and accuracy tests on a wide transition.
  5. A lot of the problem is that the local shooters willing to help design/build don't actually have a of the higher level match experience to go off of or they are thinking within their own capabilities (aka KYL thinking) so the stages you get are not always as awesome as match goers would like. I'll admit though, sometimes you just need a stage built and its very limited and boring but its that or no match.... I know my designs are not always great, but I am learning still. But you know what, if someone is going to complain they should be offering designs and their time to build instead. It's a volunteer sport after all
  6. All I care about with new shooters is safety. Action pistol isn't just getting a fast sight picture and a fast trigger pull. It's a a lot of muzzle control that many shooters prior to starting in this sport don't ever need to practice or never think about given the movement involved
  7. I don't have a dedicated Limited gun at this time so I am open to options. I shoot single stack and like the upper ergos and SA trigger of a 19/2011. But I also shoot an SP01 in production and prefer that style grip (yes a TS/TSO grip fits me very well) so this is appears to be ideal combination. With lower mag prices that can hit 20-21 at major PF in a legal length and a vastly lower overall price getting into a Limited gun as compared to a 2011 is very appealing to me.
  8. Only for unloaded. No loaded mag in mag well, nothing in cylinder and nothing in chamber then it's not a DQ
  9. Yes if he was actually unloading and it was an AD then he goes home. I have seen cases where they intentionally fired just as the RO started the if clear command.
  10. 6.2.5.1 says during a course of fire. So if a match official notices it then they can call it. 6.2.5.2 says the shooter must be notified ASAP, which should be after the COF is completed because 8.1 does not allow match officials to say anything about firearm handling unless it is unsafe. So shooter starts with incorrect firearm ready condition, completes the COF, gets scored, then the match official tells the shooter that they are getting bumped, which is retroactive to the stage.
  11. Context here matters. 5.2.5.2 is related to allied equipment. The firearm commands rules are different
  12. Second shooter situation totally depends on where the RO was in terms of the commands given, and if those commands were spoken completely. Just starting to spit out If clear and it goes bang that can be arb'd. If the entire command was spoken then it's a DQ. I'd prefer a rule edit to make the DQ applicable at the start of issuance of the ICHDH command rather than "after issuance" wording used now.
  13. unless it is a firearm related bump because competitor is solely responsible for all firearm handling per 8.1.
  14. They can be cool but not legal in all divisions
  15. not a new shooter by any means, just an new to production shooter.
  16. as my shooting buddies say, "Just send it!"
  17. I sent a note asking about the issues here with that suggestion. Hopefully more folks will jump on board and do the same. It would greatly simplify things. However, it needs to be done correctly so that it does not create a loophole during chrono and inspection stages. If chrono is verifying equipment, there is no start signal....
  18. I love debating in the weeds like this if you have not noticed. Practical application of rules, plain language of the rules, intent vs letter of the rules, etc. discussions are good for everyone, no matter how frustrating.
  19. I am not disagreeing with him on the intent or practical application of the rule. Only the specific wording of them. You are correct that 6.2.5.1 does not talk about start condition but it does talk about equipment and OTHER requirements of a division "during the course of fire" as you know is from Make Ready to Range is Clear. D4/5 SC #1 says ready condition is hammer down. 8.1.2.3 for selective action firearms specifically references "Divisions in Appendix D". 8.2.5 allows for a shooter to holster their firearm according to the rules of 8.1, then given the above you are not complying with the division requirement for ready condition if you are hammer back/safety on.
  20. I asked about both issues. I won't call anyone for reholstering on safe unless I hear different in a reply given the info I provided in my note.
  21. that is part of what I asked NROI about for clarification
  22. As written and read cold, the equipment requirements and 6.2.5.1 does not say while preparing. Only "during course of fire". Again I understand intent. I have sent a note to NROI about this particular issue. Maybe I'll get lucky and receive a response.
  23. under what rule? just going by letter of the rulebook not the intent
  24. So if you need to holster after the start signal, production and CO folks with external hammer need to decock first?
