  1. Welcome to AZ!!!! Just learn to drink lots of water and keep spray on sunscreen in your bag!
  2. I had the grips and magwell put on my CZ75 by Angus...yep skateboard tape was necessary. I shot them for the first time at a match in Tucson in 90 degree weather - Pro Grip became my best friend that match until I got more tape on them....LOVE THEM THO!
  3. Hey guys, I just talked to Steve and here is the scoop - Show up at 8am either Saturday or Sunday (whichever day you signed up for) 250 rounds should be plenty as it is 7-8 stages The stages are all IPSC approved and for those that have shot a Rio weekend match it will be pretty standard for them. For those of you that haven't....you'll have a blast. If anyone has any other questions just give Steve a call. He is sorry he hasn't gotten back to folks but he has been out of town all week and lost the thumb drive that had the list of names on it.
  4. Even better, just watch what happens when you post a question out here....I usually get a PM back from Gary (Dillon) telling me the answer and a new part is in the mail! Great service considering he knows I only live 20 mins away from the shop.
  5. How about an old Harley! This is a picture of my dad on his new 1939 Harley. He bought it new when he was discharged from the Navy. He got out in Virginia and this picture was taken shortly after he got home in Belt, Montana. He said that it was a long, lonely ride. Nice!
  6. Hmmmm I know there have to be other Harley riders out there....this is my latest baby.
  7. Just to add to that, I bought mine from Angus Hobdell at Ghostholster. He recommended them because I wear hearing aids in both ears and we found that using these I could ditch the hearing aids at matches and still hear conversations....Can't say enough about how comfortable and WONDERFUL these ear muffs are! There are many many guys that I shoot with that are hard of hearing that I wish would get a pair of these as well!
  8. IPSC rules state maximum barrel length is 5" to play in Production. The G34 and G35 are 5.5" barrels. Thanks, you're right...I just checked the rules and they are ok for Limited but not Production. Hmmm I wonder if I should mention that to my friend?
  9. Why is a G34 illegal in IPSC? I shot one for several years in Limited and know several people that shoot them in Production.....
  10. What is your oal? I had that problem with mine and had to shorten mine down. Am now shooting 125jhp 1.080 oal....
  11. HEY....watch the comments about us scorpio women! he he
  12. Although International Handgun Leather does not have a web site - here's a link to all of our sponsors for the match: 2006 A2 / Desert Classic Sponsors A2Chic You are looking for Ian Martin. He can be reached at gunleather@uswest.net
  13. On the sides of the cart were 2 pvc pipes that represented the 180 and you could not cross that. A couple guys did reach back and got dq'd for it - this would definitely be a one way ride but the targets never disappeared as they were all visible all the way down. You could have shot everything from the top if you had the guts and the range :-) Hopefully someone has some good video of it but if you look at the picture that was posted you can see the white pipe sticking up on the right hand side. That was to remind you of the 180.
  14. Ok guys...it was only in the 80's and gorgeous shooting weather! Low 60's for the first stage every morning. The problem with the roller coaster was you had sets of 3 to 4 targets on each side as you went down. If you were L10 or Production you better reload pretty darn quickly. A lot of shooters forgot there was a brake on the coaster so if they blew a reload or had a malfunction they just blew past targets when they could have stopped themselves. The other end was if you hit the brake too soon there was a certain point where it wouldn't start again and you either had to pull yourself along with the ropes or take all long shots, including a head shot....Disaster factor was huge here but was a total blast!!!! Joe Platt and his crew did an great job in scoring and keeping the stage moving so everyone got through quickly.
  15. Fri Nov 10 Sunny 79°/51° Sat Nov 11 Partly Cloudy 79°/51° Sun Nov 12 Partly Cloudy 78°/51° Just specially ordered up for all you East Coast folks! Welcome to Arizona!
  16. I bought my then 12 year old son a Walther P22 and now less than a year later it is too small for him. Figure I am just going to drop a 22 conversion into my Glock 34 and let him go to town on that one for a month or two to get him used to the grip size and then just convert him over to 9mm and let him shoot the regular match if he has an interest.
  17. Warning...warning. Danger Phil Robinson... Danger. I get sick on roller coasters. I already told Paul that he better supply a barf bag on the roller coaster! Was told I was NOT allowed to throw up on their stage! :-) Head south to Kartchner Caverns if you want to see some incredible caves. You need to buy your tour tickets in advance though.
  18. Carina you are truly our goddess!!! Way to go girl!
  19. I carry a surefire in my purse and have traveled a lot with it. Usually the tsa pull the purse and run it through the scanner 3 or 4 times before asking if they can go thru my purse. I tell them they are seeing a flashlight and the last 'bright' guy actually pulled out the flashlight and used it to look thru my purse to see what they saw on the scanner. No real issues but now I leave it in my purse as a matter of principle.
  20. We keep trying to get Julie to have a new poster done now that she is at S&W......hmmmm maybe one of these great pics?
  21. Matt, if you don't learn anything from the video, the bloopers will definitely make your day......
  22. Six months ago I signed my 12 year old up at the Krav Maga center where I work out. I am happy to say that this very slender, small young man will now fight like a pit bull if attacked. Now that makes a momma proud! For those of you with kids, check out the Krav center in your area as most have great kids programs. What they are teaching them are not only great conditioning and physical fitness but may save their lives one day. Heck with turn the other cheek.....I want to see him knee someone where it counts and shove their nose in with his elbow!!! Their focus is hurt them and then get away!!!
  23. I picked up the 3GM video from Angus today (was lucky enough to get the first one out of the box!) and raced home to watch it. All I can say is WOW!!!!! You have 3 amazing and totally different shooters breaking down the different facets of shooting and after only making it through the first video I am almost in information overload. The incredible thing is that each one was was able to make a different topic click for me. With every one there was that 'aha' moment on a particular topic where it finally made sense and now I can't wait to put it all together! Saul/Max/Angus you definitely have a winner here (and Angus thanks for letting me shop your garage as you worked on my gun!). This video is definitely a must have and the advance clips were just a tease for the incredible information you get. Sorry...have to get back to video 2 but just couldn't wait to tell you about it.... Thanks guys!
  24. Try Precision Delta ammo - I just ordered a case of 9mm 124gr fmj to shoot as practice ammo as time is running tight before Area 2. Shoots at 128pf out of my CZ75b and SP01....I really enjoy reloading but at least I know it will run well out of my gun and this is the USPSA match ammo that you can ship to a match.
